gebhi folks14:07
gebI have a heat user question : is that possible to use a shared heat for different regions with a shared keystone ?14:07
gebI tryed to change region_name_for_services but then everything was created in the RegionOne and now I am trying to investigate using a combination of region_name_for_services / region_name14:09
zanebgeb: it's designed for one Heat per region, just like the other services (except Keystone)14:11
gebGreat, thats what I am trying to acheive. So In case I have the shared keystone in RegionOne. Should I use something like region_name = RegionOne ; region_name_for_services = $region_name ? or something else ?14:15
zanebI'm pretty confident that region_name_for_services = $region_name is correct14:17
zanebthe region_name part, I'm not at all sure about14:17
zanebkeystone doesn't have a region AIUI. there is only one auth_url for the cloud14:18
zanebgeb: docs seem to indicate that's correct: https://docs.openstack.org/heat/rocky/configuration/config-options.html#keystone_authtoken.region_name14:19
zanebI really hate that ****ing banner14:19

openstackLaunchpad bug 1788389 in openstack-doc-tools ""This release is under development. The current supported release is Queens. Back to Top" banner is mildly annoying" [Undecided,New]14:37

gebI feel a bit out of luck investigating how to have a working setup for MultiRegion.17:49
gebIf i try region_name=RegionOne ; region_name_for_services = RegionTwo ; I have errors like "EndpointNotFound: admin endpoint for identity service in RegionTwo region not found"17:52
gebIf i try region_name=RegionTwo ; region_name_for_services = RegionOne ; It seems to work fine ... however, VMs etc are created in RegionOne17:53
gebEven using heat master17:53
*** openstackgerrit has quit IRC18:10
gebok, creating those endpoints and using "region_name=RegionOne ; region_name_for_services = RegionTwo" ; works. Thats a bit counter intuitive however..18:34
