fungi | wendar makes a great point in the foundation-board ml thread about revising the ai policy that consulting developers could help. there's been several messages i've wanted to respond to in that discussion but can't because i'm not a member of the board | 16:20 |

fungi | i the discussion had been held on the foundation ml instead of the foundation-board ml i think it would have a different shape | 16:21 |
fungi | i also had a meeting the day of the informal discussion call and could not attend, fwiw, async discussion would have been more inclusive in that regard | 17:45 |
JayF | https://github.com/SeanMooney/openstack-ai-style-guide and I have something similar locally. Use of these tools is rapidly increasing and they are extremely capable today to work on OpenStack code. Not all the results are great; but I've had it almost fully-implement API features in Ironic that only needed minor human edits. | 19:09 |
JayF | Part of the lack of uptake is that the tools themselves only recently got good enough to be useful in a codebase as complex as ours. | 19:09 |
JayF | note that even a recent CVE fix was drafted using these tools as a key component: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/949179 | 19:11 |
JayF | (I linked the xena version; but the rest are actually landed because they aren't unmaintained in name or reality :D) | 19:12 |
fungi | note that searches for generated-by are also going to increase dramatically after https://review.opendev.org/q/hashtag:generated-by all merge | 19:28 |
