gouthamr#manila etherpad https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/gazpacho-ptg-manila17:02
fungigouthamr: if manila is going to use meetpad, then you probably want to update the track url to match, like #manila url https://meetpad.opendev.org/gazpacho-ptg-manila (or to whatever the url is for where you're meeting anyway)17:08
gouthamrnice, yeah, that'd make sense.. carloss wdyt ^17:09
gouthamrwe have some folk that struggled with meetpad unfortunately - they have some issues where they need to use their corporate VPN, and something there makes meetpad unusable17:10
fungioh, interesting, that's the first i've heard of corporate vpn being in the mix but i can bet the company firewalls are then blocking jitsi's webrtc connections17:11
fungiregardless, remember to update the track url to whatever you'll be using, even if it's not meetpad17:12
gouthamr++17:12
openinfraptggouthamr: Unknown user command. Should be: in, out, seen, or subscribe17:12
gouthamr#manila url https://meetpad.opendev.org/gazpacho-ptg-manila17:13
gouthamr^ we can update this if we decide not to17:13
fungibut if you do use meetpad, having the room name match your etherpad name will result in that pad being embedded as the shared document in jitsi rather than it being a different empty etherpad17:13
gouthamryep17:14
croelandtfungi: thanks a lot17:21
croelandtfungi: I think I must have missed an email or something :/17:21
clarkbgouthamr: I don't know that it helps in this situation but you can install a jitsi meet cleitn on both android and ios and connect that way (potentially bypassing corporate vpn if just using the phone for comms) then have the etherpad up on your laptop/desktop/workstation17:23
gouthamrclarkb: sounds like a good alternative, and should help indeed 17:24
gouthamrscreen sharing for some show-and-tell would probably be a concern, but, we can work around iyt17:25
clarkbgouthamr: you basically set the server name in your settinsg to meetpad.opendev.org and then the room is the gazpacho-ptg-manila part of the url17:25
gouthamri def love using meetpad, and wouldn't want to resort to proprietary solutions 17:25
gouthamralthough people have started seeking "AI Notes" now :D i've told them we'd record and you can seek transcriptions off of the youtube video17:26
clarkbwell also you're supposed to write down the notes in the etherpad. Thats the whole point. And then you know its not some poor interpration of what was said17:28
gouthamrtrue17:29
gouthamrare we planning any plugins to jitsi? https://github.com/jitsi/jigasi17:29
gouthamr(i suppose you'll get the question from the OIF board regarding gerrit plugins for AI code reviews too)17:30
clarkbno we (opendev) don't have access to any llms at the moment. I also have concerns with default opting services like gerrit and jitsi into these tools due to their take all possible information appraoch to building their learning data set17:31
clarkbwhat we've proposed people look into with Gerrit is creating zuul jobs/roles that allow projects with credentials to llms to prompt them for what the project finds useful in an opt in manner (via explicit configuratio nof the job)17:32
gouthamroh, neat idea17:32
clarkbfor simple transcription its possible that we could add that if that can be run locally on the jitsi meet instance without an llm (I'm not sure)17:33
clarkblooks like vosk may be local in that readme17:34
clarkboh and libretranslate looks local too. So for that specific case I think this probably possible if someone wants to figureo ut how to run those services locally to avoid the data leakage concern17:35
gouthamrhttps://alphacephei.com/vosk/models - none terribly large17:41
clarkbthat big model is still probably twice as big as the server currently running the service17:43
clarkbso have to consider if it is worth doubling the size of the entire service for this one feature17:43
clarkband that is perlanguage too17:44
gouthamroh i see17:45
gouthamryes, and we'd stick to English since we've accepted that as the language of doing business here, but, it'd be really cool to extend it to other languages in the future17:46
clarkbbut maybe the smaller models would work well enough and if so that seems reasonable. Likely needs testing if someone is interested in doing it17:48
clarkbour test envs for meetpad can be held if someone sets up a change to deploy and configure the transcription and then tested there17:49
carloss> nice, yeah, that'd make sense.. carloss wdyt ^18:28
carlossgouthamr sounds good and thanks for updating the url :)18:28
