jpodivinHi. I'm wondering if ther is a way to get data about roles using openstack collections on wallaby.09:02
jpodivinlike Compute etc. 09:03
jpodivinjm1: tbh: I'm really interested in the "CountDefault" attribute from their template. 09:04
*** ysandeep is now known as ysandeep|lunch09:08
jpodivinIn CLI I would do that with `openstack overcloud role show <role>` but I don't know if there is a module for it.09:08
jm1jpodivin: "openstack overcloud" is a tripleo thingy?09:13
jpodivinjm1: I don't think so ... I believe it's part of openstack CLI by default09:14
jpodivintripleo commands are in their own namespace. 09:14
jm1jpodivin: its not in python-openstackclient09:15
jm1jpodivin: i think its part of python-tripleoclient09:15
jpodivinjm1: yeah, reading the -h output it seems it is. 09:16
jm1jpodivin: maybe you get some idea how this "overcloud role show" works in their code https://opendev.org/openstack/python-tripleoclient/src/commit/12e788906c816f129a960aa70b96403c568a2388/tripleoclient/v1/overcloud_roles.py#L10609:17
jpodivinjm1: so there isn't a way to get the ifno from an Ansible module? 09:18
jm1jpodivin: what info do you want to have?09:18
jpodivin'CountDefault' mostly, as much as possible would be great but my primary goal here is to get the info using ansible module, if possible. 09:19
jpodivinthe command is just the way I would do it manually. 09:19
jpodivinI suppose, worst case scenario, I may just drop in shell.09:20
jm1jpodivin: what is CountDefault? is this tripleo specific?09:21
jpodivinit's a heat template attribute. 09:21
jpodivinkept in the role template ... I was wondering if there is some way to reliably retrieve it with openstack collection modules09:22
jm1jpodivin: oh i am afraid i cannot help you with that. regarding heat we only have two modules, one to create/delete stacks and one to retrieve general information about stacks. tripleo has a lot of ansible modules, maybe they have something to retrieve this value?09:29
jpodivinjm1: they used to have something which we are trying to replace ... on account of authentication not working as it used to on wallaby09:31
jpodivinidea is that we could use something more general. 09:32

jm1jpodivin: if it is usable without tripleo (e.g. only using heat) and it has support in openstacksdk, then it would belong to aoc. else i would place it near tripleo09:40

jpodivinjm1: I'm going to ask tripleo about it. Maybe they have something already.11:47
