jklaresc` hey sam, if you have some spare time, please take a look at this one https://review.openstack.org/#/c/411702/ (it currently blocks all the integration tests, since we get a nil::NilClass because of the missing attribute)16:18

PhiroEasy question I hope, I'm trying to figure out if I need to subscribe to hosted chef or if there is a free tier for my handful of nodes, or what. I've gone on the pricing page and I can't figure out if there is a line of free and not-free. If you go here: https://www.chef.io/pricing/ does the middle column of 20 node minimum  mean <20 nodes is free?18:50
sc`it says five nodes at the top18:52
sc`$72 per node annually is the price if you have >= 20 nodes18:52
sc`but free hosted chef is five nodes max afaik18:52
openstackgerritMerged openstack/cookbook-openstack-telemetry: ceilometer-api and gnocchi-api need to be disabled on Ubuntu  https://review.openstack.org/41237318:53
PhiroAlright, thanks. So just so I know I understand, if I have 7 nodes, I pay for 20 nodes, because 20 nodes is the minimum and free stops at 5 nodes?18:56
PhiroActually it says your free trial is up to 5 nodes, that != free up to 5 nodes.18:57
sc`i've been using hosted chef with just a few nodes for free18:58
sc`the way i would take it is that you'd pay for seven nodes, not 2018:58
PhiroSo have I, but I got an email on Friday from a sales person wanting to talk to me on the phone about paying :(18:59
sc`you get the discounted annual price if you have >= 20 and pay per year18:59
sc`that's how i interpret it18:59
Phiro"$72 per node ANNUAL (MIN. 20 NODES)" - I read that to say "minimum 20 nodes".18:59
sc`otherwise, seven at however much per month hosted chef costs18:59
PhiroI know this isn't #chef-sales, I apologize, but calling a sales person is the last thing I want to do18:59
sc`i hear you. i am loathe to talk to sales people myself19:00
Phiro(erm, sorry if any chef sales people are in this channel)19:00
Phiro(I'm sure you're nice people and kind to kittens and such)19:00
sc`j^2 may be able to answer this and give a non-sales-y answer. he still idles here :D19:00

PhiroThe j^2 name is in their older documentation that points to this channel ;)19:01
j^2hi!19:01
PhiroIt speaks!19:01
j^2catching up19:01
j^2ah ok, so Phiro yeah those prices are the "correct" from above19:02
Phirook...19:02
j^2i'd reach out to sales@chef.io for specifics19:03
j^2though _what_ are you trying to do exactly?19:03
PhiroAs in, what am I doing with chef?19:03
PhiroOr why am I in this channel?19:03
j^2why you are looking at Hosted Chef?19:03
j^2for a lot of use cases it's not the _best_ option, i'm just trying to make sure you're on the correct path19:04
PhiroMaybe I am using the terminology wrong. I have a handful of aws ec2 servers and I have some cookbooks defined online and I run chef-client --once to deploy some things on my nodes after each code push.19:04
j^2ah ok, inside of EC2, you should look at: https://aws.amazon.com/opsworks/chefautomate/19:05
j^2that's the story you want19:05
Phirok I'll read up on that, thanks19:05
sc`<3 thanks j^219:05
j^2sure np :D19:05
j^2sc`: :D19:06
