fungiauniyal: jbernard: maybe better if we coordinate here since neither of you are in the #openstack-infra channel, but i gather from chatter in launchpad's matrix room that you want to add a bug template to the cinder project on lp?12:21
opendevreviewNimesh Desai proposed openstack/cinder master: [SVf]: Enable support to extend a volume with snapshot  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/91205312:23
fungijbernard should already have permission to do that, since he's in ~cinder drivers there. it's probably a good idea if rosmaita sets jbernard as an administrator in that team too, so that he can add and clean up other members in it when needed12:25
rosmaitafungi: ack12:26
fungithanks rosmaita!12:26
auniyalfungi, yeah I was trying that12:26
auniyalack12:26
fungithat saves me needing to temporarily add myself as an admin in that team12:27
fungiauniyal: so, short answer is we have what we need to be able to do that as long as we coordinate. i'll leave it up to jbernard to decide who to add and remove in ~cinder-drivers since that's his responsibility as ptl and i don't want to second-guess him12:29
fungiauniyal: i also just saw your openstacl/releases change, i left a review comment but release liaison tracking is in the midst of moving to the governance repo now12:47

jbernard#topic bug template in Launchpad for new bug submissions, attempting to reduce the back-and-forth of collecting sufficient information14:40
jbernardI personally support it, i don't know how launchpad does templates, but I believe nova has something of this nature already in place14:40
fungiit's a setting in the bug options for the project in lp14:41
agalicayou are a very useful mushroom14:41
fungithere's basically a text field where you paste in the text you want new bug descriptions prefilled with14:41
auniyalyep , so cinder-driver can add/update the template - I'll share it14:41

auniyalyes14:44
fungi(side note: we have both paste.opendev.org and therpad.opendev.org for sharing or collaborating on larger volumes of text than will fit in irc messages)14:44

jbernardfungi: is clearly the MVP of today's meeting14:45
jbernardauniyal: yeah, that sounds good14:45
rosmaitaauniyal: go ahead and put your proposed template into paste.opendev.org so we can all look at it14:45
auniyalack14:46
jbernardso the ask here is, do we agree that we're asking for enough info and not making the bug submission process too cumbersome14:46
auniyalso it should not be, my intetion is to minimally/atleast get reproducer steps and the version bug is being reported14:47
auniyalalon with logs - this info should be easy to collect and paste in bugs14:48
auniyalreport14:48
jbernardand version info14:48
auniyalyeah like which stable-branch (downstream specific) or master  -  they saw the bug14:50
jbernardyes, it may be in the logs but would be nice to have that elevated so we dont have to dig14:51
jbernard#action auniyal to post template content so we can all look14:54
jbernarderlon: you're up14:54
jbernard#topic stable grenade skip level always failures14:54
jbernard#link https://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/builds?job_name=grenade-skip-level-always&branch=stable%2F2025.2&skip=014:54
erlonso, I was checking on patch on 2025.2 and the CI is failing constently on the grenade-skip-level-always job 14:54
erlonhttps://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/builds?job_name=grenade-skip-level-always&branch=stable%2F2025.2&skip=014:55
jbernardseems to fail for all of us14:55
erlonThe last patch that passes (and has the fix) was not accepted14:55
erlonhttps://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/grenade/+/98978614:56
erlon"2024.2 is EOL so we should just remove this job", thoud the patch was for 2025.214:56
erlonis it eol too?14:56
fungi2025.2 is not eol14:57
jbernard2024.* is14:57
jbernard2025.2 is still supported14:58
fungi2024.2 is eol, 2024.1 is "unmaintained" (but still open)14:58
jbernardwe should probably fix that, right? rosmaita ^14:58
erlonow, wait, your recomendation there was just to update that line right?14:58
fungi#link https://releases.openstack.org/ Current maintenance state of OpenStack project branches14:58
erlonthe patch is valid with that14:59
jbernardahh, nm14:59
jbernardslurp14:59
jbernarderlon: how can we help get this resolved?15:00
rosmaitai think the point is that grenade-skip-level doesn't make sense for 2025.2 because it would upgrade from 2024.2, which does not exist anymore15:00
rosmaitaso that's why the change has to be made in stable/2025.215:00
fungicorrect, technically grenade-skip-level isn't required for any *.2 releases because it exists to test upgrades between *.1 (slurp) releases15:01
fungi*.2 releases only need to test normal grenade upgrades to the next *.1 release15:01
rosmaitabut i think the change should happen in the template? 15:01
rosmaitawe don't directly configure grenade-skip-level (i don't think)15:02
erlonjbernard: im trying to figure out hoiw to fix those and get the stable jobs passing. 2025.1 is failling as well15:02
erlonrosmaita: so would we need to make the job non-voting?15:03
rosmaitai guess that would be a short-term fix15:04
fungithe branch list is set in the tempest repo15:05
erlonhow about 2025.1? that should be required right? if the fix isnt that complicated, I could try to fix 2025.1 and 2025.2 since I already will work on 2025.115:05
fungi#link https://opendev.org/openstack/tempest/src/branch/master/zuul.d/integrated-gate.yaml#L501-L506 branches for grenade-skip-level-always15:05
fungier, i guess it's farther down in that file you actually want, in the integrated-gate-storage template15:06
fungigrenade-skip-level is set to test changes for 2024.1 there, and grenade-skip-level-always tests 2025.1 and 2026.1 changes15:07
fungiwe'll need to do some spelunking to figure out how it's ended up getting applied to 2025.2 changes15:09
fungiprobably worth bringing up with the folks in #openstack-qa15:10
erlonright, I suppose those kind of changes cannot be tested with gerrit patches+dependencies do they?15:10
fungiaha, found it15:11
opendevreviewMerged openstack/cinder master: Remove unused type ignore for requests.packages.urllib3  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/99013015:11
erlonI remember that there was some projects that would only affect after the change were moist15:11
gmaanwe removed the  grenade-skip-level-always from 2025.215:11
gmaanhttps://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/tempest/+/99015215:11
erlon"Remove unused type ignore for requests.packages.urllib3"?15:11
gmaanif that is something you were asking for15:11
auniyalor this - https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/devstack/+/97610515:12
erlonah, sorry15:12
erlonclicked the wrond link15:12
fungiyeash, so fixed yesterday15:12
fungithough it ran again today15:13
fungioh, but only on swift, so they're probably adding it somewhere else themselves15:13
erlonok, ill try again today. on 2025.1 (https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/cinder/+/989550) granade was failling as well. not sure if it was the same reason15:14
auniyalI thinkthis might be the culprit it changes setuptools in 2025.2 only - https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/devstack/+/97610515:15
auniyalby looking at logs here  - https://23e156ac1bd829e81611-6ac4a54b3a9261cc3d1dc9362057083e.ssl.cf5.rackcdn.com/openstack/da81098e3fb149a29e184f3bb8046d5a/job-output.txt15:15
gmaanohk so it was not removed for 2025.1 and that is why it is running on 2025.1 and might be failing as it test 2024.1 -> 2025.1 upgrade15:16
auniyalif you look at around tile 2026-05-27 10:07:4315:16
gmaanif nobody to fix the 2024.1 which is unmaintained then we can remove it from 2025.1, maybe elodilles can check  as he was working on making grenade jobs green15:17
jbernardremoving it from 2025.1 make sense to me, but we can wait for elodilles to weigh in15:23
jbernardthat is all for agenda for today, anything ad hoc to discuss?15:24
