itamarstdoing another round of eventlet bug fixes, and was wondering, does openstack still use Python 3.9?13:53
itamarstdropping support would make my life easier13:53
JayFlet me check14:10
JayFhttps://governance.openstack.org/tc/reference/runtimes/2026.1.html G which comes out in ~1 month, python 3.10 is the minimum required14:11
JayFthat doesn't mean zero openstack projects want to support python 3.9, it just means they aren't required to14:11
JayFand I would say that means don't worry about new eventlet for 3.914:11
JayF3.10 is dropped from H which is the next one https://governance.openstack.org/tc/reference/runtimes/2026.2.html14:12

itamarstexcellent, thank you!15:10
gouthamr++ ty itamarst JayF.. yes, good place to not care about these EOL or soon-to-be-eol python versions, however, i'm nervous around 3.14 16:01
JayFjust embrace the nervousness around 3.${N+1} as a constant of life at this point :P 16:01
gouthamrwe'll soon be running end-to-end tests with it, and we haven't excised eventlet enough all over yet.. i mean, while a lot of progress has been made, many projects would be testing/using eventlet in these end-to-end test jobs (and hence supporting eventlet usage)16:03
itamarstyeah we're fixing some 3.14 bugs17:57
