opendevreviewMerged openstack/project-config master: to create a new repo for a cfn new launched sub-group heterogeneous distributed training framework  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/project-config/+/94955513:29
fungihttps://superuser.openinfra.org/articles/opendev-and-rackspace-building-stronger-open-infrastructure-together/13:31
fungier, i meant to post that in #opendev but i guess it's on topic here too13:31
-opendevstatus- NOTICE: Setuptools 80.7.0 broke python package installs for many affecting CI jobs. That release has been yanked and it should be safe to recheck failed changes.22:00
sean-k-mooneyfungi: interesting. one of the biggest impromebt is they did is not using like 10 year old server on xen with a very very old version of openstack. thats at least prat of the reason that the flex vms out perfrom there old regions22:17
clarkbsean-k-mooney: their Vms are still half the cpu count of everyone elses and run the jobs quicker22:21
clarkbso yes I'm sure updating things helped, but its not just in comparison to classic that this holds22:21
sean-k-mooneydo rax have a blog like cern where they detail some of the configuriaton choices they made in more detail22:23
sean-k-mooneyit would be interesting to know if they have any specific turning that we perhaps shoudl evalcuate enabling by defualt ectra22:24
clarkbI have no idea22:25
clarkbcloudnull cardoe may know22:25
cardoeI think they do it on docs.rackspacecloud.com22:26
JayFI was about to have a whole thing about firmwares then I saw that was the "minimal cloudimg" that was 1.1G22:29
JayFyou can maybe get away with that if you support hardware because of the gigantic firmwares which are getting more and more common22:29
sean-k-mooneyis the setuptools 80.7.0 breakage differnt then the previous isssues we had with 80.0.0?22:34
sean-k-mooneyo i see it propperly yanked form pypi22:36
sean-k-mooneyi assume we had not actully update to it if it only came out 2 hours ago22:36
sean-k-mooneyopendev does  ci for the psf however too right so i guess it probaly hit them more directly22:37
JayFopendev does ci for pbr :)22:38
JayFwhich psf "supports" backwards compat apis for, where "support" means "yank the release when people scream" I think 22:38
sean-k-mooneyah i see mnaser commented on the issue 22:41
clarkbsean-k-mooney: we used to do ci for pyca then they stopped and never talked to us about it...22:43
clarkbbut thats ok22:43
sean-k-mooneyi remember interacting with some pyca folks and they wanted to try an unifi there ci22:43
sean-k-mooneyi dont recall what system they went all in on now22:43
sean-k-mooneybut i think that was part of the motivation ot discontinue usage of our zuul instance22:44
* sean-k-mooney we tried to consoliate ci in our prodce and went jenkinds downstream and zuul upstream to jenkins and zuul downstream and zuul, prow and github-actions upstreamm....22:48
