hogepodgeI need to communicate the next plans for the whitepaper to the mailing list, and start reaching out to companies.15:54
hogepodgeWe have some examples from the summit which had a good balance of depth which we can share around.15:55
TheJuliahogepodge: excellent!15:55
hogepodgeaprice: is there anything from the OSF marketing team we should be thinking about?15:55
apriceright now, we are focusing on getting case studies from the remaining organizations who initially signed up for the bare metal program15:55
apricewill be publishing some soon, but nothing from the marketing side for now15:56
apricedefinitely just want to work closely with the SIG on outlining the scope of the whitepaper15:56
rpiosoaprice, hogepodge: Are any Shanghai summit baremetal SIG programs being considered?15:57
TheJuliaSession submission for that I don't think has opened yet15:57
hogepodgeWe definitely want to have the whitepaper finished by Shanghai, so we can promote it as part of the summit.15:58
rpiosohogepodge: Thank you!15:58
hogepodgeSo if you are part of an org that has a good use case, we can talk about that. We want to promote the usefulness and diversity of Ironic installations.15:58

arne_wiebalckrpittau: Just to close this: I created my 60 instances now a couple of times, with the default iSCSI verification timeout of 3 seconds and with 60 seconds. With the higher value, I did not observe any iSCSI errors, while with 3 seconds I saw some (not many) so I will go for the higher value now.16:26
rpiososri_: Have you hand tested the server's network connectivity from the console?16:27
rpittauarne_wiebalck: wow 60 seconds is a lot! Did it actually wait for that long ?16:28
rpiososri_: And examined its network config and interface states?16:29
arne_wiebalckrpittau: I haven't checked :) I was more thinking I'd rather add 60 secs to a failure and increase the success rate.16:29
arne_wiebalckrpittau: I'd guess that probably 10 secs would be good enough, but I don't necessarily need a failure that quickly.16:30
arne_wiebalckrpittau: The error rate was anyway pretty low, like 1-2 out of 60.16:31
rpittauarne_wiebalck: I see, that makes sense, just hope to not end up like having 1 sec waiting time per server! :D16:31
