dtantsurso, ipa-tempest-bios-ipmi-direct-src is broken?10:05
rpittaudtantsur: looks like it, I had a quick look but didn't have the time to dig deeper10:10
rpittaubit weird though, seems like a network connection issue between ipa and ironic10:10
dtantsuryep, and not immediately, only after a few actions10:10
rpittaudtantsur: BTW the workaround for swift sha1 seems working, grenade is passing in the test patch -> https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/84663910:12

JayFiurygregory: dtantsur: Watched your Metal3+Ironic talk from the summit, nice work \o/17:12
JayFI especially appreciated the bits about all the work you all've done over the last several years to improve the hardware support... back when I was more active in the project, it felt like we were building up the featureset. A lot of the work in the last few years has been making sure that dream is realized on actual hardware (and is the hard part lol)17:15

TheJuliastevebaker[m]: ouch :(21:01
stevebaker[m]Lets have a looksee21:06

TheJuliathe bios job did make it further https://storage.gra.cloud.ovh.net/v1/AUTH_dcaab5e32b234d56b626f72581e3644c/zuul_opendev_logs_c08/846067/1/gate/metalsmith-integration-glance-centos8-legacy/c082137/controller/ironic-bm-logs/node-0_console.log21:10
sschmittHi all, I asked last week but still hitting an issue with nodes performing their final boot. Im using the SNMP driver on a yoga stack. I've got the image deploying to the node just fine, however when the node does its final reboot, it doesn't come back up as it doesn't find a pxe config telling it to boot from the disk. On a Train based stack that we have, this works perfectly fine and I can see all the relevant pxe configs for the21:11
sschmitt deployed node's MACs in the PXE directories. I see no such thing for this Yoga stack. Any thoughts?21:11
TheJuliastevebaker[m]: routing issue as well maybe?!21:14
TheJuliastevebaker[m]: but on the other hand... 4 out of six jobs passed21:15
TheJulia20% failure rate on a timeout... must be super close21:15
TheJuliasschmitt: what boot option do you have set?21:16
sschmittPXE is first21:16
TheJuliano, I mean in ironic.conf21:17
TheJuliayoga's default_boot_option in ironic.conf was local21:18
TheJulia#default_boot_option = local21:18
TheJuliaIn ussuri it was changed from netboot. Sounds like your reliant upon network booting instances to disk which is trecherous territory with things like UEFI :(21:20
sschmittAhh thats probably whats getting me caught21:20
sschmittYeah these are set to bios for now21:21
sschmittWith SNMP is there really another option though?21:21
TheJuliamoving beyond yoga, you'll likely want to explore ramdisk deployment interface... or maybe we might need to make a hybrid interface that is spearate since we started peeling out the legacy "network boot to load a boot loader from disk" since yeah.. trecherous territory21:22
sschmittgood to know, I will look into that. Thanks so much!21:22
TheJuliathe conundrum is disk boot loaders with UEFI want themselves to be the default21:22
TheJuliaso they will edit the bootloader21:22
TheJuliaI've had to heard nobodycam grumble about this over dinner :)21:22
TheJuliaramdisk goes direct to kernel/ramdisk loading from networking, so think of it as "always network boot"21:23
NobodyCamyawn.. Good Afternoon Ironic folks21:23
TheJuliaNobodyCam: no yawning... else I'll need to take migraine meds21:23
* TheJulia already needs to take them21:23

stevebaker[m]I guess we're still waiting for a swiftclient release to maybe fix the grenade job?22:01
