Which file should I put it in? Is it one of the rsts in /doc? I was also told that I might need to include a release note. How do I do that? Lastly, if anyone has any suggestions or comments on my tests (it is my first time using mock) please let me know.12:32

TheJuliahjensas: and you need some renos :)15:44
hjensasTheJulia: thanks for the reviews so far. I'd be happy to have call.15:50
TheJuliaI just want the recheck to return results yet because I think that may provide additional insight15:53
TheJuliaiurygregory: so... we have a feature backport request...15:53
TheJuliaiurygregory: https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/850554/15:54
dtantsurthat better have some good justification15:55
TheJuliayeeeaaahh... I'm not sure how that makes operator's lives better which is our feature backport loophole15:56
dtantsurlooks invasive to me. I wonder if a smaller subset can be extracted for a backport15:57
TheJuliaI think it looks mostly invasive since it is doing a big chunk of logic change for setting handling in the common.py file15:58
TheJuliaand then ultimately is a bit invasive15:58
TheJulialook at the conf.py15:59
TheJuliaI wonder if we should get them to reframe this as an unfortunately invasive bug fix16:03
dtantsurI wonder if a fix is possible without deprecations, option changes, etc16:03
TheJuliawell, new options are fine, the deprecation... I guess is the huge problem16:05
iurygregoryTheJulia, interesting...16:11
rpittaugood night! o/16:11
iurygregorythe bump in drivers-requirements can be problematic 16:11
iurygregorymaybe not directly request >=0.11.4 16:12
iurygregorybut limiting to < 0.12 could be ok16:12
iurygregory"deprecated_for_removal" in the conf/irmc.py.....16:13
iurygregoryI don't see "irmc_snmp_user" conf16:14
iurygregoryyoga, xena and wallaby? WOW16:16
dtantsuroh, driver-requirements? missed that16:18
iurygregorydtantsur, yeah...16:18
iurygregoryI don't think we can just bump from 0.8.0 (min) to 0.11.4...16:19
dtantsuryeah, not ideal16:19
iurygregoryspecially when they want this till wallaby...16:20
dtantsurI can easily imagine some downstream only packaging 0.8.016:20
dtantsur(I wonder what RDO has)16:20
iurygregoryexactly 16:20
TheJulia0.8.1 was *old* 3 years ago16:20
TheJulia0.10 is more recent, 1 year wallaby16:20
dtantsuryeah, but 0.11.4 is very new, if I read it correctly16:21
TheJuliayeah16:21
TheJuliaso... They tried to make it 0.12.x16:22
TheJuliaand I noticed 0.12.0 had a breaking change16:22
dtantsurJuly 29th. it's 3 days old.16:22
dtantsurWe can be 100% confident that no downstreams have it for stable branches.16:22
TheJuliayup16:22
iurygregoryI would be ok with <0.12 in the driver-requirements16:22
TheJuliaeven on automated pipelines... that takes time16:22
TheJuliahmm16:23
iurygregorybut directly bumping the min version I don't think is ideal..16:23
dtantsur>=0.11.4 is simply a no go16:23
TheJuliaI think that is reasonable to ask them to revise it16:23
TheJuliasince it is a gray area almost bugfix backport16:23
dtantsurI could be convinced about >=0.11.1 or >=0.10.0, which are from last year... but not a 3 day old release16:23
TheJuliajust snmpv3 security stuffs must not have been grokked back then16:24
dtantsurright16:24
TheJuliaOkay, i'll come upw ith some words, but It would be helpful if others commented on it as well16:24
iurygregoryI do understand that this is necessary to make it work when FIPS is enabled16:24
TheJuliayeah16:24
iurygregorywill add to my list for review16:25
dtantsuralso it should not have been a patch version on their side16:25
dtantsure.g. https://opendev.org/x/python-scciclient/commit/04bb48cc814b6bdf8f9dc118722b2b8a398c5a6f seems breaking at first glance (removed the "community" argument)16:25
