priteauHello. While testing Kayobe with fake bare metal nodes (using virtualbmc) I discovered this issue with TinyIPA images: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ironic-python-agent-builder/+bug/2068936. Are you aware of it?07:16
rpittaugood morning ironic! o/08:09
rpittaupriteau: hey, thanks, yes we're aware of that issue, I think there's a bug already for that08:11
rpittauwe actually use tinyipa only for CI, my suggestion would be to use the DIB image (centos based) or just build one yourself08:11
rpittauTheJulia, JayF, masghar, the issue with the metal3 job is indeed due to the change, my bad for not spotting the double quotes in the htpasswd command08:34
rpittaugoing to submit a fix ASAP08:34
opendevreviewRiccardo Pittau proposed openstack/ironic master: Makes metal3 integration job vote again  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/92173408:44
priteaurpittau: yes, we build our own images for physical deployment, but have been using tinyipa in CI and dev environments.09:01
rpittaupriteau: unfortunately latest tinyipa has an issue with parted related to gcc, we've reduced the usage of tinyipa because of that, and default the ramdisk to DIB based image09:06
rpittauwe're actually looking into alternatives to tinycore09:06
priteauGood to know09:06

opendevreviewOpenStack Release Bot proposed openstack/ironic bugfix/25.0: Update .gitreview for bugfix/25.0  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/92175110:17
adam-metal3hi, so I am researching boot related things and I was wondering that do I understand correctly that IPA is a ramdisk that has it's own dracut based initrd? so it is basically two stage boots from an initrd to a ramdisk right and this ramdisk is kind of manually created in dib/ironic-ramdisk-base/cleanup.d/99-ramdisk-create (in the IPA builder tool)?11:59

dtantsuradam-metal3: IPA is essentially installed in initrd (yes, dracut based)12:14
