dxterslab | Thanks stevebakerm! I have gotten as far as looking at that repo and the bmc-support branch. I haven't gotten yet to get video output from it. The approach I am taking is: I am doing a get request to this endpoint /redfish/v1/Managers/1/Oem/Supermicro/IKVM and then using the /redfish/<token> provided to initiate the novnc session, by interacting with the websocket. Is this the same implementation you were working on? | 00:11 |

dxterslab | @TheJulia I haven't done it for devstack but can help with questions around spine/leafs setups if you need advice on VXLAN setup | 00:15 |
dxterslab | @stevebaker[m] the other issue I have encountered with SMCs solution is the RFB version. They respond with RFB v55.8 `[2025-04-30 18:29:46,300] [root] [INFO] [VNC] Handshake from server: b'RFB 055.008\n'` | 00:43 |
stevebaker[m] | dxterslab: I am yet to get my hands on a Supermicro server new enough to have the /redfish/v1/Managers/1/Oem/Supermicro/IKVM endpoint otherwise I would have gone with that approach. Until someone works on that the implementation will be browser virtual clicks and typing:/ https://opendev.org/openstack/ironic/src/branch/master/tools/vnc-container/bin/start-selenium-browser.py#L198 | 00:47 |
stevebaker[m] | dxterslab: the noVNC fork should handle the non-standard RFB version, the opcodes they have added, and also the non standard colorspace | 00:49 |

GreyGnome | Hello. I am trying to install ironic on a Ubuntu Jammy server and this command: apt-get install ironic-api ironic-conductor ironic-novncproxy python3-ironicclient | 02:04 |
GreyGnome | Gives this error: E: Unable to locate package ironic-novncproxy | 02:04 |

frickler | stevebaker[m]: related to the above comment, seems the docs update in https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/ironic/+/939191 was premature since I don't see novncproxy packaged for either ubuntu or debian yet? | 08:11 |

stevebaker[m] | frickler: yes indeed, they were merged as future focused docs as the alternative was not documenting how to install it. If there is anything you can contribute to improving the deb packaging that would be appreciated. Even if that is poking the right people | 22:50 |
