SvenKieske | FYI: it seems there was a temporary failure in log collection in CI yesterday, you might want to recheck your jobs if they got a post failure, I did so with this line: "recheck temporary failure with logging at rackspace" | 09:11 |
---|---|---|
SvenKieske | it would really be a godsend if one could do mass rechecks with such generic failures :-/ | 09:12 |

lanson | Hello, I'm working on the cyborg patch to enable the haproxy listener for it that currently does not get created (https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla-ansible/+/890642), I think this is done but deploying it, I think we might have another issue, cause the api gets deployed on every compute and controller ? I don't think that this is the desired behavior ? | 12:46 |
lanson | [cyborg-api:children] | 12:48 |
lanson | cyborg <-- shouldn't this be control ? | 12:48 |
lanson | actually there seems to be more than this wrong. the conductor is also on every node, rather than the controllers | 12:59 |

frickler | SvenKieske: mnasiadka: can you please check https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla/+/829295/comment/ee0497fa_ff0a8286/ ? I would prefer simplicity in the code over marginally smaller images | 15:53 |
SvenKieske | frickler: just replied | 15:58 |
SvenKieske | personally I prefer smaller/more secure images, but I wouldn't choose that hill to die upon :) | 15:59 |
SvenKieske | it's a marginal benefit in both directions imho: not much size/security gain; not much complexity avoided. | 15:59 |
SvenKieske | so your decision, as you please :) | 16:00 |
SvenKieske | uhm, am I holding it wrong? why is a gate pipeline running non voting jobs? https://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/status?change=934315 https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla/+/934315 | 16:02 |

jizaymes | hi all. new here so take it easy on me. Having some stupid issues that I dont think are kolla-ansible's fault but maybe. 3 controllers and 2 compute nodes in a lab. theyre all proxmox VMs, Ubuntu 22.04, same problems on kolla-ansible 18.2.0 and 19.0.0 and openstack 2024.1 2024.2 respectively. bootstrap, certificates and prechecks are all clean. I do a deploy and cant get past mariadb setup. I've resorted to disabling all | 18:40 |
jizaymes | tls and proxysql to try to simplify troubleshooting and it still doesnt proceed, with the other servers never syncing back up with the first. The containers on the second controller keep cycling every 30 seconds or so, presumably healthcheck related. controller2's mariadb container cant open backend connection, connection timed out. cant telnet to controller01 4567...seemingly not listening. I havent dont any customization | 18:40 |
jizaymes | s to the OS other than vanilla ubuntu and some basic bootstrapping for packages needed and apt updates. Going through other girartions now to dumb down my globals.yml to see if theres some sort of other nefarious setting. They can all ping and ssh to each other and resolve DNS. anyone seen this or have insight? | 18:40 |
jizaymes | my above issues appear to be related to firewalld | 19:16 |

shermanm | if you're running firewalld on ubuntu, IIRC kolla won't automatically disable it or warn, I think it only checks for UFW | 22:02 |
shermanm | do you get anything from firewalld's log or dmesg when this is happening? | 22:02 |
opendevreview | Merged openstack/kayobe master: Add internal VIP address to no_proxy https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kayobe/+/922787 | 22:19 |
