dhellmanngangil: the log levels are defined by the python stdlib module, and we're evolving the oslo logging code to be a library for configuring logging rather than an API wrapper for the logging module17:26

dhellmannarosen: the only part of oslo.log that most projects use directly is getLogger(), which returns a wrapped log handler. We're replacing that handler with a formatter that does the same thing. That lets non-openstack projects log with the same amount of context info as openstack projects, and it removes a dependency on oslo.log with all of the other libraries, making it easier to avoid cycles.17:56
