cazinoI 'm running into a problem : want to run tempest tests on a on a stable/juno cluster. Tempest and the cluster are installed though devstack.  There is a dependency issue  with that setup : juno requires oslo.i18n <=1.3.1 (https://github.com/openstack/requirements/blob/stable/juno/global-requirements.txt#L64) whereas tempest wants oslo.i18n >= 1.5.012:40
cazinohttps://github.com/openstack/tempest/blob/master/requirements.txt#L1712:40
cazinoCan't find any stable/### branch on the tempest repo....12:43

mtreinishcazino: if you're running tempest on the same machine as one part of a stable branch openstack deployment you'll need to isolate tempest behind a venv to install it14:41
mtreinishcazino: tempest doesn't have stable branches because master will work against any supported stable openstack branch, but the reqs do conflict so you need to isolate the install14:41
cazinomtreinish: thanks. Does it mean that installing tempest through devstack is meant to work only when using master ?14:43
mtreinishcazino: on stable branches devstack doesn't system install tempest it expects you'll use tox to venv isolate it for running tests14:44

melwittraildo: you are going to have to fix the patch in nova. the patch changed the behavior for the keypair API and it shouldn't have20:36
raildomelwitt: yes, I know that, the problem is that in the nova side, the behavour was correct( if I want to create a keypair in a project target that isn't in my context.)20:39
raildomelwitt: with this code20:39
raildomelwitt: the problem in thetempest test is that when the code change the auth_data her https://github.com/openstack/tempest/blob/master/tempest/api/compute/test_authorization.py#L20520:41
*** annashen has quit IRC20:41
raildomelwitt: they're changing the context too, since the target will be tha same then the context, nova doesn't prohib the action20:42
melwittraildo: okay, so maybe I'm not clear on the scope of the patch series then. I thought the series was only adding support for nested quota, not nested projects in general20:42
raildomelwitt: I'm trying to understand how can I change the url inside the keypairs_client on tempest.20:43
raildomelwitt: right, let me see if I can explain more about it (if you have some time for this)20:43
melwittraildo: I'm going to check the spec again, it's probably explained in there20:44
raildomelwitt: ok, thanks :)20:44
raildojust a quickly context about that patch, a parent project can be able to uptade the quota for subprojets and with that checks, nova doesn't permit make a action in a different project on my context.20:48

mfalaticMagnum's gate is broken and I've got an open bug to look into it... can I get some eyes on it? https://bugs.launchpad.net/openstack-gate/+bug/147360020:49
openstackLaunchpad bug 1473600 in OpenStack-Gate "Gate builds are suddenly failing due to possible authentication issues early in the process" [Undecided,New]20:49
melwittraildo: yeah, I understand that part. what I didn't expect is that the series would add support for "subprojects" across all of Nova APIs. I thought it was going to be only for Quotas20:50
raildomelwitt: for now, it's just for quotas. we don't want to change any other APIs20:51
raildomelwitt: that's why I'm trying understand if this a issue in the tempest code, or in the nova side.20:52
melwittraildo: that's where I'm confused. I thought that not changing the other APIs would mean for example that keypair trying to update for another project, would still fail (until it gets subprojects support)20:53
raildomelwitt: ++20:53
