LiangFangin tempest test, is it possible to get the volume mount point in host machine? e.g. volume A mounted to host machine /dev/sdd, and then it is assigned to a VM, and the mount point inside VM is /dev/vda09:06
LiangFangcan we get /dev/sdd in tempest code?09:07
toskyLiangFang: there is a list_disks method (previously only count_disks) inside the RemoteClient class (see tempest/common/utils/linux/remote_client.py)09:12
toskyintroduced by https://review.opendev.org/#/c/698598/09:12
toskynot sure it's 100% what you need, but you can get some ideas from ^^09:13

openstackgerritLiang Fang proposed openstack/devstack-plugin-open-cas master: Add tempest tests to zuul  https://review.opendev.org/71377209:15
LiangFangtosky: every time when I submit patchset, I feel like zuul will not create a new VM to run the tests. The VMs used to run tempest tests are not newly created, right? So if there's some data left in the VM on last round run, then the environment is dirty, am I right? thanks09:19
toskyLiangFang: uh, the environment where the tests are executed is fresh every time; zuul asks nodepool for a new instance and it gets it09:25
toskydid you observe anything strange?09:25
LiangFangtosky: yes, I saw the code /opt/stack/open-cas-linux is old09:28
LiangFangso I added "rm -rf /opt/stack/open-cas-linux" in my patch09:28

LiangFangtosky: I can only see the lastest log, right? e.g. when I submited patchset 11, then I cannot see the log for patchset 9, right? thanks09:38
toskyLiangFang: you can; the old logs are removed after a while, but definitely not after one day09:39
toskyyou can get it from the comment which zuul leaves on the review09:39
LiangFangtosky: thank you!09:42

kopecmartingmann: I put tempest cleanup role execution to tempest-full-parallel job as you suggested, but the job is lately timing out and i can't figure out why from the logs, are there any knows issues? https://review.opendev.org/#/c/698610/17:12

openstackgerritElod Illes proposed openstack/devstack-gate master: Set up stable/ussuri  https://review.opendev.org/71527217:16
gmannkopecmartin: it took around 2 hrs. i can see cleanup things running - https://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/build/da6ca23508fb4cf68d2957831fd861ab/log/job-output.txt#3493817:31
gmannbut it does not cleanup the resource right ?17:32
*** dtantsur is now known as dtantsur|afk17:32
kopecmartingmann: yes, it is running, but just the first part (initialising of resources - it creates saved_state successfully) , then the tempest is executing tests but then it time outs , so we can't verify that cleanup (just dry run) runs successfully17:34
kopecmartinit timeouted sooner than dry run could be executed17:34
kopecmartinmaybe we need to increase time out for that job?17:41
kopecmartinoh yeah, there was this change which limited timeout for 2 hours, right? it seems like this job could be an exception17:41

mtreinishgmann: just a heads up I pushed out stestr 3.0.0 which dropped support for python < 3.519:27
mtreinishhopefully it should go smoothly I did some testing with nova unit tests and tempest unit tests prior to release19:27
mtreinishbut I don't have an openstack env locally anymore (it's technically still there, but I haven't booted it in ages) so I couldn't do a tempest run19:28
gmannmtreinish: ok. tempest master has all >py3.5 env jobs. queens gate tempest jobs are < py3.5. i will monitor if any issue there.19:32
*** jparker has joined #openstack-qa19:33
gmanni think it will be all good as till rocky which is <=py3.5 is all using stable constraint including grenade tempest run.19:35
mtreinishwell pip should still fallback to stestr 2.6.0 because  on those old jobs anyway if they're running on an old python version19:36
mtreinishwe set requires_python>=3.5 in the setup.cfg so pip should know to not try and install 3.0.0 on older python19:37
gmanndoes it fallback or error ? if we do not constraint stestr.19:37
gmanni mean py2 job (though we do not have any now) on master with stestr > 2.0.0 will fail right ?19:39
mtreinishI thought it was supposed to fallback if you set requires_python, but I just tried it in a 2.7 venv and it installed 3.0.019:40
mtreinishI should have tested that before releasing :/19:40
gmannbecause we faced those failure on stable jobs when oslo, other lib  did requires_python>py3.619:42
mtreinishugh, it's a typo in setup.cfg: https://github.com/mtreinish/stestr/blob/master/setup.cfg#L2819:42
mtreinishI think it needs to be '_' not '-'19:42
gmanni think '-'19:43
mtreinishhmm, then why is py2 trying to install it?19:44
mtreinishoh, maybe because it's python_requires in setuptools not requires-python: https://packaging.python.org/guides/distributing-packages-using-setuptools/#python-requires19:45
mtreinishthis a bad situation because this basically means I broke all previous users on <3.5. Since if I push a new release out fixing the mistake it will fallback to 3.0.0 which is still wrong19:46
mtreinishfungi, clarkb: ^^^ do you have any thoughts or suggestions?19:47
fungioof, thinking cap on19:48
clarkbthere are pypi issues with requires python right now19:48
clarkbare we surw this isnt that?19:48
mtreinishoh I wasn't aware of that, maybe it is19:49
*** gcheresh has quit IRC19:50
fungiwell, it sounds like this may be a mistake in packaging19:52
fungiin openstack projects we're putting "python-requires = >=3.6" or whatever in setup.cfg19:52
gmannboth 'requires-python' and 'python-requires' should work fine19:52
gmannyeah19:52
fungiokay, good19:52
fungiin that case, as long as pbr supports them both, i'm inclined to suspect pypi issues19:53
gmanni was searching issue on pypi but could not find one19:53
fungiwhich ought to be temporary19:53
mtreinishok cool, well that would be good. I was worried I made a big mistake19:57
