fricklerdo we want periodic checks for noble now? seems no general issues there15:11
kopecmartinsure, have i again forgot to update the links in the agenda? 15:11
fricklerwell I think it wasn't clear whether noble jobs were stable enough earlier15:13

kopecmartin#topic Open Discussion15:15
kopecmartinanything for the open discussion?15:15
opendevreviewJens Harbott proposed openstack/devstack master: Add devstack-platform-ubuntu-noble to periodic  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/devstack/+/92376215:15
fricklerjust a general note from the CVE work yesterday15:16
fricklerseems there are still regular gate failures due to various issues15:17
fricklerbut I'm not sure what to do about it, marking the affected tests as unstable will likely just make them fail forever some day without anyone noticing15:18
fricklereh, s/yesterday/last week/ mostly15:18
kopecmartingate failures on the noble jobs or in general?15:19
fricklerin general. noble isn't used in gating yet afaict15:19
kopecmartinoh, right .. yeah, no one has really time to chase those :/ 15:20
kopecmartini planned to check some of the failures myself, but i didn't find time for that15:21
fricklerit also seems like more failures happen when the CI is full, so might be load related15:24
kopecmartinmight be15:24
kopecmartinanyway, that's it , if there isn't anything else15:25
fricklerack15:25
kopecmartinthanks15:26
kopecmartinsee you around15:26

johnsomI was trying to setup a Noble devstack yesterday and got this failure:16:05
johnsomhttps://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/hf68SnBu/16:05
johnsomI don't see any discussion about it in patches or IRC, so curious if anyone knows why I am hitting this and the gates aren't.16:06
johnsomI do have qemu-system-x86 installed16:06
clarkbhttps://packages.ubuntu.com/noble/qemu-system looks like the current pacakge name16:07
clarkbthen it pulls in the appropriate arch specific package as a dependency16:07
clarkboh it actually pulls all the arches in as qemu emulates them16:07
johnsomqemu-system is already the newest version (1:8.2.2+ds-0ubuntu1).16:07
clarkbyou need a longer trace to see where it is being installed from16:08
clarkb`install_package qemu-system libvirt-clients libvirt-daemon-system libvirt-dev python3-libvirt systemd-coredump` seems to be the ubuntu qemu install line in install_libvirt16:09
clarkbso ya need more context in your log to see whati s trying to install qemu16:09
johnsomHmm, this is a fresh Noble VM and the first stack.sh run....16:10
fricklerdo you use any plugins?16:10
clarkbjust a few more lines of context will probably show the line that calls install_package qemu16:11
johnsomAh, I see it, yep, it's a problem in the Octavia plugin16:11
johnsomUgh, I have no idea why our plugin is installing this instead of using the diskimage-builder bindep.txt. Sigh.16:19
melwittgouthamr: hey, I've since done more devstack runs with devstack-plugin-ceph with CEPH_RELEASE=reef and what I found was that in the ceph logs you can see for example "ceph version 18.2.2 (531c0d11a1c5d39fbfe6aa8a521f023abf3bf3e2) reef (stable), process ceph-osd, pid 79" but in the environment when you do a "ceph --version" it will return 17.2.7 and only have access to the quincy rbd CLI and python bindings. I'm not sure how it happens or18:22
melwitt what it means?18:22
