ttx#topic Assign R-22, R21 weeks tasks14:13

* elodilles clicks14:16
elodillesall fine14:17
elodillesLGTM14:17
fungilgtm, no edits14:18
ttxok sill sed soon14:22
ttxwill send14:22
ttx#topic Open discussion14:22
ttxshall we meet during PTG? Or just skip it? This is mostly useless as a recruitment mechanism14:23
fungiare there any tasks that would be good to collaborate on in real time on a conference call?14:23
ttxnot really14:24
fungithen probably not much point in a ptg session, no14:24
elodillesi'm not insisting either14:25
ttxI just wanted to announce that I won't be able to contribute as much to the team going forward, but we can do that at our next meeting I just signed up to lead (I'm bad at quitting apparently)14:25
fungithough if there are release management topics we want to bring up with the tc, it may make sense to get those on their schedule14:25
elodillesttx: sad to hear that, but i know you had many things on your plate so i kind of expected that14:27
elodillesfungi: +114:27
ttxhopefully fungi will be able to step up and compensate for some of that14:27
fungii'm going to continue trying to ramp up my involvement yes14:27
elodillescool, thanks fungi 14:28
fungii've been failing at that over the past few weeks due to unrelated distractions, sadly14:28
ttxI'm still available but I'll stop taking up tasks and my rotation in leading this meeting14:28
ttxor doing regular reviews14:28
fungiyeah, this should be a good point in the cycle for me to take on a few tasks that don't need release-manager privs14:28
ttxbut ping me in case you have questions or doubts14:29
ttxor need a second opinion14:29
ttxanyway... I'll chair one more meeting, so I'm not gone yet14:29
elodillesshould we add fungi to the gerrit group? https://review.opendev.org/admin/groups/5c75219bf2ace95cdea009c82df26ca199e04d59,members14:29
fungiand i still owe tobias-urdin a review on his signing key documentation improvement now that things are finally starting to settle down post-release14:30
elodillesttx: thanks all so far o/14:30
fungielodilles: i don't object to being added, i may not exercise it much right away but will be careful not to approve things i'm unsure of14:30
ttxdone adding fungi14:30
ttxthat group could use some maintenance :)14:30
fungiouch14:30
fungiyeah, it's crowded in there14:31
ttxOK to remove Doug, Hervé, Sean and Kendall?14:31
elodilleswell, there are some people there who sometimes shows up and reviews this and that, so maybe not fully necessary14:31
elodillesi see sometimes Sean and Hervé14:32
elodillesthough maybe only Hervé reviews time to time some odd patches14:32
ttxyeah Sean just runs the invite script those days14:32
ttxand he can do that without the approval creds14:33
elodillesyepp, Sean reviews requirements patches14:33
elodillesspeaking of that14:33
ttxOK I'll keep Hervé and Sean14:33
elodilleshe does that via this group's rights14:33
elodillesno, he is explicitly added there https://review.opendev.org/admin/groups/283fbf0ad1867f40b023bf1cfc7b778816d90d27,members14:34
elodillesttx: +114:34
ttxalright anything else?14:35
elodillesnothing from me14:35
ttxok then14:35
ttx#endmeeting14:35

opendevreviewMerged openstack/releases master: Correct the effective date for Hibiscus signing  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/releases/+/98403514:52
opendevreviewElod Illes proposed openstack/release-test master: Introduce pyproject.toml  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/release-test/+/98404715:01
stephenfinelodilles: comment on https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/release-test/+/98404715:15
elodillesah, thanks stephenfin , will update o:)15:16
opendevreviewElod Illes proposed openstack/release-test master: Introduce pyproject.toml  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/release-test/+/98404715:42
elodillesstephenfin: ^^^15:55
elodilleshmmm, it seems we had a weird release job failure :S 'tag-releases' job failed as it could not install (?) 'git-review' package on ubuntu-noble node: https://lists.openstack.org/archives/list/release-job-failures@lists.openstack.org/thread/DRCXRRA7Y76HO6BGGXFK2C2QJXDI3I54/16:08
elodillesit should exist in noble (it exists in my noble env) so this is strange :S16:09
clarkbelodilles: the problem was due to the mirror node gettings its dns updated before the new node was configured as a mirror16:20
clarkbOnce I discovered the issue we disabled that cloud region (it is still disabled) and reverted the dns update. I will reenable the dns region in about 20 minutes which should be sufficient time fro dns caches to expire and rerequest the record16:20
clarkbso yes the packages all exist the problem was jobs running in ovh gra1 couldn't reach the mirror due to a dns problem16:21
clarkbI think we can reenqueue jobs like that at this point. But may be worth waiting for fungi to get back from lunch to confirm16:21
stephenfinelodilles: Sorry for the delay. There's a small bit more need to do. Comment left16:27
clarkbto do a bit more checking before fungi gets back: https://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/buildset/042ae546fdd5412bbce09c7c4ff4a138 is the buildset from the email linked above. And according to https://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/buildsets?pipeline=release-post it was the last buildset in that pipeline. I think that means it is safe to reenqueue. but the other thing to check16:39
clarkbis if the jobs failed early enough to not worry about side effects. They retried a few times so maybe not?16:39
clarkbya it failed in pre-run during the step that installs the packges listed by bindep so i think this is early enough to not worry about side effects and we should just reenqueue the buildset16:40
clarkbfungi: ^ can you check that when you get back?16:40
fungiyeah, looking now16:50
elodillesclarkb fungi: the patch is that triggered the job is https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/releases/+/98403516:51
elodillesso no harm at all as there's no need to tag anything16:51
elodillesbut the release page is not refreshed as that is dependent on the tag-release job16:52
fungiright, i think we're fine there, and the next change tat merges for openstack/releases will in theory catch up anything that was missed16:52
elodilles+116:52
fungibut since it was the most recent buildset, i reenqueued it16:53
elodillesi just worried that this might be a permanent issue :S but then it isn't \o/ thanks clarkb fungi for checking o/16:53
elodillesfungi: +116:53
fungiso it should run clean this time, and if so the site will get updated16:53
fungii'm keeping an eye on it in release-post status16:54
elodillesthanks o/16:54
clarkbI did reenable gra1 as about an hour had passed since the dns revert went in16:54
clarkbso far it seems to be working16:54
opendevreviewElod Illes proposed openstack/release-test master: Introduce pyproject.toml  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/release-test/+/98404716:58
elodillesstephenfin: thanks again for the review, updated based on your comment ^^^16:58

opendevreviewGoutham Pacha Ravi proposed openstack/releases master: Release skyline-console 5.0.1, 6.0.1, 7.0.1  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/releases/+/98407416:59
fungitag-releases succeeded so the site publishing job will hopefully work now as well17:01
elodilles~o~17:07
fungilooks like it all worked fine this time17:13
fungihttps://zuul.opendev.org/t/openstack/buildset/9197af97a2e74d9398f33a1c418ec58017:13
* gouthamr wonders if we have a thing against friday releases17:14
fungiand https://releases.openstack.org/#cryptographic-signatures has the corrected rotation date now17:14
fungigouthamr: for the most part yes, though urgency can still be argued17:14
gouthamrty fungi; i wanted some eyes on openstacksdk - but can wait for monday17:15
clarkband big holidays. One time a pbr release was made by the release team on like dcember 21. Then everyone went away for 2 weeks17:15
gouthamrtotally legit reason :D 17:15
opendevreviewMerged openstack/release-test master: Introduce pyproject.toml  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/release-test/+/98404717:19

opendevreviewMerged openstack/releases master: Release release-test on 2026.2 Hibiscus  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/releases/+/98408617:51
fricklerttx: too bad to see you (almost?) go, as you may have noticed I don't have much capacity left for release-team things myself. so looks like elodilles might be left on his own mostly :-/18:21
opendevreviewGoutham Pacha Ravi proposed openstack/releases master: Update freezer & ironic release liaisons  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/releases/+/98410718:31

fungii'll do my best to keep elodilles company ;)18:59
