zaitcev | Guys, what do I need to do in order to run a particular job from the gate locally (swift-multinode-rolling-upgrade)? Is there a cookbook recipy? | 01:59 |
notmyname | zaitcev: AFAIK, there is not a simple way to do that. you'd have to do a lot of the setup work by hand. runnign the ansible scripts, prepping the nodes, etc | 02:06 |

notmyname | hmm... imagine being able to specify some credentials in a local file, then running a command locally that talks to a cloud provider with those credentials and runs the zuul job | 04:20 |
notmyname | that could be pretty useful, perhaps | 04:20 |
notmyname | so I could run `zuul run_tests ~/.my_cloud_creds` and it sets up EC2 instances and whatever's needed. or an openstack cloud. or a vagrant provider. | 04:21 |

bharath54321 | Hi. I am working on a project involving Openstack Swift which requires me to keep a storage disk which is used by the Swift Object servers to sleep. The disk has been mounted with an XFS filesystem as recommended. But the XFS filesystem keeps waking up my disk which I have kept to sleep. I was wondering if there is anyway to use a disk which is not mounted with a FileSystem in Swift i.e can I use a raw block device? I have suppressed all | 07:02 |
bharath54321 | the Swift processes running on the disk i.e Replicator and Auditor. Is there any other good way to put the disks used in Swift to sleep? Thank you | 07:02 |
