opendevreviewSylvain Bauza proposed openstack/governance master: Make Eventlet removal deadlines more acceptable for operators  https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/95290315:05
gmaantc-members: seems like bringing cyborg activeness discussion in ML/meeting got noticed by the current PTL and they merged the Ci fix and other changes. CI is green now. That solve my main concern so I am going to abandon my change to mark cyborg inactive (at least for this cycle). let me know here or in gerrit if any objection on that. https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/95279816:34
JayFIt's not super sustainable to have to ping teams to care about this stuff, but it's a win that it's fixed for now16:35
gouthamrno objection from me; i will note that there was interest even from Red Hat in discussions elsewhere; I hope this means that there’ll be newer/more active maintainers for the project16:36
gmaanJayF: yeah, that is why it will be in our list to continue monitor. And coming cycle or election will bring more clarity if anyone (existing maintainers or new one) want to maintain it long term (and actively not by pinging for reviews)16:39
JayF...or migrate it from eventlet ;) 16:40
gmaan++ yeah that is good checkpoint point too 16:40
gmaananother thing on project healths, while touching the inactive project list, I notice Monasca still in inactive list and we did not provide/forgot to check extension to it in 2025.1 and 2025.2 cycle https://governance.openstack.org/tc/reference/emerging-technology-and-inactive-projects.html#current-inactive-projects16:42
fungifwiw, horace said this to me: "current PTL said he is more supportive to hand over Cyborg to other community volunteers"16:42
gmaannot sure what is situation on that project but I might not have time to monitor it. gouthamr if you would like to add it in next meeting agenda and find volunteer to check this project stauts?16:42
gouthamrsure thing16:43
fungiso i'm at least hearing second-hand that the current cyborg ptl doesn't consider this situation sustainable and would prefer to pass it off to other maintainers16:43
gmaangouthamr: thanks 16:43
gmaanyeah, I sent email to ML about call for new maintainers but no response yet. company might need time to decide that. RedHat is one of them checking about it. Let's wait if anyone come forward. 16:45
gmaanand yeah, it is great help that we have existing maintainers to handover the things.16:45
gmaangtema: mnasiadka: as you voted in this, please check if current situation/commented i gerrit also, is ok for you to not mark it inactive? https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/governance/+/952798 16:48
mnasiadkaReplied in the change16:50
gmaanthanks for quick response16:50
mnasiadkaBut if current PTL wants to hand it over - I think it would be good to facilitate it so we don’t come back to it sooner than we think16:50
gmaantrue, let see if we find someone volunteer but it is less likely to happen soon or in this cycle. Coming next cycle PTL election can give us more visibility 16:52
