mnasiadkagmaan: Any idea what to do with python-tempestconf which is owned by refstack group now - are you fine with moving that to openstack-qa?07:50
gmaanclarkb: thanks14:31
gmaanmnasiadka: it was always in refstack group. I never made it under QA, because it did not fall under the QA mission. Instead of re-discussing moving to QA, we need to discuss if it is maintained or not and it has active group of people to maintain it. If no then no point of moving it under QA with hope of that current QA team will maintain it14:39
gmaanand again we need to see if anything changed which matches it as per QA mission. I know there is no more refstack group anymore but QA should not be the only home for it.14:40
gouthamri wouldn't raise my hand to maintain it, i've only added a few changes there.. 14:40
mnasiadkaMe neither, although Kolla uses that today - but it’s easy to replace14:40
gouthamrbut, its being used quite heavily in downstream CI and tooling14:40
mnasiadkaDownstream CI and tooling in RH?14:42
gouthamryes14:42
gouthamrthe maintainers are all Red Hatters unsurprisingly: https://review.opendev.org/admin/groups/python-tempestconf-core,members14:42
mnasiadkaWell, you work in the same company - can you reach out to the people sometimes maintaining that to understand if they’re happy with us sunsetting it? :)14:42
mnasiadkaFor me it’s just some convenience to use when preparing env for Tempest (e.g. Kolla-Ansible CI uses that)14:43
mnasiadkaBut it’s not hard to replace it14:43
gouthamryeah, it's not meant to be anything more14:43
mnasiadkaTrue, but I don’t like the fact it’s blocking the refstack retirement19:04
clarkbcan we retire everything but that repo for now?19:06
clarkbI'm not sure I fully grasp why it is blocking the rest of the retirement19:07
gouthamryeah, is it that you don't want that remaining under "openinfra"? 19:12
fungiit's no longer used by the openinfra foundation, now that the board's interop wg has been dissolved; that was the main reason for wanting to retire it20:24
fungii thought i had separated it out from the refstack retirement changes though? maybe not20:24
gouthamrhigh time we create a namespace to develop unofficial openstack projects through opendev and let people maintain them there? 20:25
fungiany new namespace anyone wants to create is fine, there doesn't need to be a shared namespace for that20:44
fungimaking a shared "unofficial openstack-related projects are welcome here" namespace sends a signal that people shouldn't develop unofficial openstack-related projects in any other namespace they like20:45
gouthamrthat’s a hard stance, I had high hopes for “nopenstack”20:48
