RabidCicadahello fellas.  I've got a question about spinning up devstack on xen using ./install_os_domU.sh.  When I run the script I get to the DevStackOSDomU spinning up...but the netinstall wont progress.  It looks like the netinstall gets address 169.254.0.2 and can't find a network path out.  I believe I'm using FLAT network configuration.  I see packets on the Dom0 coming in from IPTABLES and00:20
RabidCicadatcpdump...but nothing seems to get to the outside world.  From the DevStackOSDomU netinstall...I pop a shell and can ping the Dom0 at 192.168.1.10...but cannot ping anything else.  Using TCPDump...I see unanswered ARPs for 169.254.0.1.  Could use a little help figuring out my configuration issue.  I think the unanswered ARPs have something to do with it...but don't know why my devstack run00:20
RabidCicadawont just work.00:20
RabidCicadaWalloText...but I figured people would rather see what I've tried than "HALP ME PLEASE!?!?!?!"00:21

DugWhen I try to authenicate it keep complaining about the "auth" keyword (which is mentioned at that link) so I'm guessing those must not be the right docs.02:57

Dugyep - that's pretty much what I'm doing.  I know we're not on grizzly yet and the URLs that the system returns for keystone end with /v2.0 so I'm pretty sure that's the right docs.03:05
helowerldI am able to get a list of endpoints by keystone endpoint-list but horizon apache2.log I get error 500, unable to retrieve service catalog with token EndpointNotFound: Endpoint not found.  ... I checked keystone and catalog is sql .. confused03:05

zrankfappawhat is the demo for thanasisk?10:12
zrankfappaand what are your timescales?10:12
thanasiskzrankfappa: scaled down versions of production websites that debs and QA can use10:13
thanasiskI do not understand timescales - sorry not native speaker10:13
zrankfappaif it's for simple dev, then vagrant would do, if it's for QA and needs to be on same network with similar spec as prod then it would depend on where your prod is hosted and the spec10:14
thanasiskso openstack is overkill for such a scenario?10:15
zrankfappatbh, if you are wanting to rollout openstack you need to be prepared to commit a fair chunk of time10:15
thanasiski can have some time10:15
zrankfappawhere is your production env?10:15
geordishzrankfappa: he could just use the rackspace installer, would take a few hours max10:16
geordishand wouldn't need to know a whole load about it10:16
thanasiskour prod env its outside of the cloud10:16
thanasiskits colocated10:16
zrankfappaaye, but wouldn't know how to support it unless you are saying it's managed geord?10:16
thanasiskmanaged is not an option10:17
zrankfappathen you would need to understand the components10:17
zrankfappafor this i'd suggest a manual install10:17

geordishif its just dev, and demo's etc whats the problem? :)10:17
*** cpg is now known as cpg|away10:17
geordishfor production I agree10:17
thanasiskstaging and production is a different can of worms10:18
zrankfappawell, if it's for QA also it would have a user group workign against release cycle etc10:18
*** P3l0t1llx0r has joined #openstack10:18
zrankfappanot ideal if it falls over and he don't have a clue how to fix it10:18
thanasiskzrankfappa: that what IRC is for :)10:19
zrankfappagood luck then :)10:19
zrankfappai've just started playing with openstack and chef, I'm going to allow about 6 months R&D build and test before I'd provision environments for my devevelops to use10:20
thanasisk6 months on private time or company time?10:21
zrankfappai'm doing both10:21
zrankfappai fit in openstack work where I can @ work and have been doing it alot @ home10:21
zrankfappai love it, but it has got a lot of moving parts10:22
*** vlad_starkov has joined #openstack10:23
zrankfappathanasiks, if i were you i'd do a tactical deployment into amazon and do a POC bulid of openstack in parallel10:23
