Habib-Ahelllo all im looking for help regarding a cinder lvm backend issue 10:33
Habib-Ai want to mount a cinder volume directly to cinder and access its data 10:35
Habib-Awhen i try to mount volume it says unknown file system 10:35
Habib-Aif i try to mount it using the iscasi initiator (iscasiadm) i always get failed auth even though i added the server to acls and have same user/pass on both sides 10:36
Habib-Acan anybody see my msgs ?!10:36
auniyalhey Habib-A can you share cmds  you tried and errors10:52
Habib-Ahey auniyal here is the cmds : mount  /dev/mapper/cinder--volumes-volume--101bbe3f--1e3e--4b24--bb7d--9dba2b3b50f9 /mnt12:03
Habib-A mount -t ext4  /dev/mapper/cinder--volumes-volume--101bbe3f--1e3e--4b24--bb7d--9dba2b3b50f9 /mnt12:04
Habib-Amount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/mapper/cinder--volumes-volume--101bbe3f--1e3e--4b24--bb7d--9dba2b3b50f9,12:04
Habib-A       missing codepage or helper program, or other error12:04
Habib-A       In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try12:04
Habib-A       dmesg | tail or so.12:04
Habib-Aand here is the iscsi error " iscsiadm --mode node --targetname iqn.2010-10.org.openstack:volume-02a36849-3599-4474-9bb1-3cfdc3fa40b2  --portal 10.X.X.X --login12:06
Habib-ALogging in to [iface: default, target: iqn.2010-10.org.openstack:volume-02a36849-3599-4474-9bb1-3cfdc3fa40b2, portal: 10.X.X.X,3260] (multiple)12:06
Habib-Aiscsiadm: Could not login to [iface: default, target: iqn.2010-10.org.openstack:volume-02a36849-3599-4474-9bb1-3cfdc3fa40b2, portal: 10.X.X.X,3260].12:06
Habib-Aiscsiadm: initiator reported error (24 - iSCSI login failed due to authorization failure)12:06
Habib-Aiscsiadm: Could not log into all portals12:06
auniyalso reason of asking for cmds is, I don't think we need to run mount cmd manually, Cinder should be able to do that. I was looking for docs for same but could not find them.12:26
auniyalcan you tell more about your setup,12:26
auniyalhow many nodes you have and in which node you are mounting, 12:27
auniyalhow did you create cinder--volumes-volume--101bbe3f--1e3e--4b24--bb7d--9dba2b3b50f912:27
auniyalI believe once these are clear someone from storage here might add/suggest more points12:29
Habib-Aok what i have is a production environment using a single node of cinder with lvm backend problem is i had i vm with important data corroupted and i need to retrive data from it so i had a backup of the cinder node i resorted it without networking and now i want to mound the failing vm volume directly to cinder to recover data i tried direct mount and iscasi mount and both had issues as stated above 13:00
