ThiagoCMCHello everyone! I'm seeking assistance enabling virtual sound in OpenStack Nova Instances, specifically for those using Libvirt & QEMU with SPICE. I'm currently working on a project that requires VDI capabilities, and the absence of a virtual sound device in OpenStack Instances is the only obstacle preventing me from migrating remote desktops to my OpenStack Cloud. Due to this limitation, all my VDI VMs are operating outside of 12:05

ThiagoCMCI've noticed discussions dating back to 2013, where people have requested this feature. Has there been any progress in implementing virtual sound in OpenStack Nova? Are there any existing solutions or workarounds to this issue? While SPICE is functioning well for remote desktop access, the lack of sound from the Instances remains a significant hurdle.12:05
ThiagoCMCI've explored other tools like Parsec (which lacks Linux host support), Sunshine, NoMachine, and XRDP, but none have proven successful. OpenStack Nova could benefit from enhanced customization options for VM definitions in Libvirt to address this need. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!12:05
ThiagoCMCSorry for the multi-line message!  =P12:05
ThiagoCMCAdditionally, I've successfully enabled VirGL 3D for some of my VDI VMs outside of OpenStack, which has been fantastic for avoiding GPU passthrough. Although it's currently limited to working with SPICE at localhost and relies on the host's GPU for rendering, I've accessed these VirGL-3D-based VDI setups remotely via a remote desktop. This makes me wonder: does OpenStack Nova's implementation of SPICE support VirGL? If so, could a 12:57
ThiagoCMCSPICE proxy be utilized for accessing VirGL-enabled VMs through the OpenStack Web Console? Any insights on this would be greatly appreciated!12:57
ThiagoCMCActually, the sound is working with latest NoMachine. lol13:11
