dcapone2004can someone assist with dual stack ipv4 / ipv6 in openstack?  I have read all of the documents, but I still have confusion on the proper setup and configuration18:41
dcapone2004I understand the lack of NAT, floating IPs etc as that all makes sense from a standard networking perspective, where I am having a hard time is understanding how to properly configure the routers, subnets, and VMs in OS to use dual stack18:44
dcapone2004from what I understand the VMs basically get connected to an interface that directly supports IPV6 external connectivity (lack of NAT/floating IPs etc)18:45
dcapone2004I have read about configuring external dhcpv6 but while how to do that are straightforward and clear, how to configure openstack routers, VMs, etc and where the allocations will land are not as clear18:54
dcapone2004does openstack provide dhpv6 services at all or is external dhcpv6 the only option for prefix delegation?  Do the prefixes get delegated to a project router where the prefix allocations should be /64s?  Do they go directly to the VMs?18:56
fricklerdcapone2004: I would suggest to look at this, which is not classical dualstack, but has a lot more flexibility https://docs.openstack.org/neutron-dynamic-routing/latest/install/usecase-ipv6.html19:16
frickleralso this explains the possible addressing modes https://docs.openstack.org/neutron/latest/admin/config-ipv6.html19:17

dcapone2004frickler: the second link you provided is the guide I looked at...just seemed odd to me with that all of the networking components there are to neutron, that DHCPv6 is not one of them and basically an external server is needed19:40
dcapone2004I will review the first19:40
