freznicek | Dear all, let me ask you for help with OpenStack Neutron configuring multiple provider public networks segments within single OpenStack external network. Adding second subnet works but adding second network segments throws 409 conflict, details https://paste.opendev.org/show/bdUH0fraX5J6X0cVhuB4/ | 11:37 |

andrewbogott_ | I can't fill out the openstack survey -- the deployment form has a bug where it requires me to fill in all rankings for the ranked-choice options but it will only allow me to enter 7 numbers between /both/ ranking sections (so like if I rank a #1 in one section then I can only rank a #2 in another section, etc.). And then I run out of numbers with many blank options and the form won't submit because it wants every number | 16:00 |
andrewbogott_ | filled in. | 16:00 |
frickler | fungi: ^^ can you forward this to the foundation? (or is someone from the web people around here?) | 16:31 |
fungi | andrewbogott_: frickler: thanks! i'll follow up with aprice on that | 16:34 |
fungi | andrewbogott_: aprice is looking into it | 16:40 |
andrewbogott_ | fungi: great. It also seems to have totally forgotten about the deployments that I filled in last time, not sure if that's on purpose or not | 16:42 |
fungi | andrewbogott_: i'll let her know about that too. are you logging in with the same account as before? | 16:42 |
andrewbogott_ | yes, as far as I know | 16:42 |
andrewbogott_ | it knew lots of other things about me already :) | 16:43 |
fungi | i've given her a heads up about that too in case it's supposed to | 16:44 |
andrewbogott_ | thanks! | 16:44 |
fungi | andrewbogott_: she's confirmed it's supposed to remember anything that isn't a new field (so should prepopulate ~90% if you've filled some in before), and she also confirmed it's similarly not prepopulating her test account so she's opening a ticket with the webdev folks who maintain it | 16:47 |
andrewbogott_ | that seems straightforward :) I'll close my browser and try again next week | 16:48 |
fungi | cool, and thanks for letting us know! | 16:48 |

aprice[m] | andrewbogott_ hi there, I had a follow up question about your user survey issue as I am filing some bugs with our team. | 16:56 |
andrewbogott_ | I closed my tab but I'll do my best to remember what happened | 16:57 |
aprice[m] | for the ranking issue, which specific question are you referring to? | 16:57 |
andrewbogott_ | They were about prioritization. I don't remember specifically, but also I think it doesn't matter which ones because they seemed all coupled together. | 16:57 |
andrewbogott_ | So like, if I entered a '1' in one then I couldn't enter a '1' in any of the others. | 16:58 |
aprice[m] | ok, i think i see. it is likely 'What are your top business drivers for using OpenStack?' | 16:58 |
* andrewbogott_ reopens the tab | 16:59 | |
andrewbogott_ | ugh, no, I have to re-fill out the preceding page to get to the one that's broken... | 17:00 |
andrewbogott_ | anyway, it wasn't that one, because that's on the 'your thoughts' stage | 17:00 |
andrewbogott_ | the issues I'm talking about are specific to the workflow where you're adding a deployment | 17:01 |
andrewbogott_ | so e.g. 'Keystone: Which of the following initiatives would be most beneficial for your deployment? You can rank items by priority with items 1 being most important and 7 being least important.' | 17:01 |
andrewbogott_ | that and 'Rank your priority of target translations for each of these in order of importance:' | 17:01 |
andrewbogott_ | those two were impossible to fill out, so I was unable to submit that page | 17:02 |
aprice[m] | oh i see. so it's the project specific questions that are classified as rankings | 17:02 |
andrewbogott_ | not really | 17:03 |
andrewbogott_ | it's on the page with the header 'Your Deployments - Part 2 of 3' | 17:03 |
andrewbogott_ | ok, I guess you're right, it is in a field of project-specific questions | 17:03 |
andrewbogott_ | sorry, I'm not able to give you my full attention right now, multitasking | 17:04 |
aprice[m] | oh you're fine | 17:04 |
aprice[m] | im looking into it | 17:04 |
aprice[m] | ok i see the keystone question now. i didnt have keystone checked on my test deployment. I am unable to recreate the issue, but will share with our team to see if they can. I will report back to you on this issue as well as the not loading previous responses bug | 17:07 |
aprice[m] | thank you for flagging these! | 17:07 |
balsa | Outside of the mailing list, are there openstack operator communities to hang out in? | 20:36 |
frickler | balsa: there is #openstack-operators which is pretty quiet though. also a lot of operators hang out with their respective deployment projects, so #openstack-kolla and #openstack-ansible can also be interesting channels | 20:46 |
balsa | Thanks for the info, I've been using kolla for a few years now but I've grown tried of some of its choices, so I'm testing out openstack-ansible for my deployment | 20:48 |
