jrosser | tkajinam: did you find any workaround for this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/horizon/+bug/2045394 ? | 11:19 |
---|---|---|
tkajinam | jrosser, not really. we have seen that the issue happens less now but we still see it occasionally. | 11:44 |
jrosser | tkajinam: it is similar for openstack-ansible - but unfortunately that does make it one of the most frequent causes of ci failure that we have | 12:00 |
frickler | jrosser: that's a weird bug, do you see this only for ubuntu pkgs or also for other installation methods/distros? | 13:03 |
jrosser | frickler: when we install from source | 13:03 |
jrosser | which i guess is highly equivalent to what is happening in the uca and debian packaging mentioned in those bugs | 13:04 |
frickler | jrosser: ok, I was about to suspect some pkging issue, but then the bug should target horizon itself, not (only) the ubuntu pkgs. do you happen to have a pointer to a CI failure handy? | 13:05 |
jrosser | i have this https://paste.opendev.org/show/bzuVIZE8bISWHMqKXfED/ | 13:05 |
jrosser | but i can also dig out the same in a real job log if thats also helpful | 13:06 |
jrosser | it has the feel of some aysnchronous or threading type of issue | 13:07 |
jrosser | most of the time it is ok | 13:07 |
jrosser | but some small proportion of the time it fails, with always that same error | 13:07 |
jrosser | and `Syntax error: Found 'inline-blo' but expected one of ....` is finding a truncation of 'inline-block' i think | 13:09 |
jrosser | frickler: i found the same thing happening also here https://www.mail-archive.com/debian-bugs-dist@lists.debian.org/msg1966844.html | 13:11 |
frickler | jrosser: thx, opensearch found some more failures, even on devstack-noble | 13:21 |
jrosser | i've updated the bug - until today i thought that this was localised to OSA jobs but it seems that it is really a wider issue | 13:29 |
tkajinam | ok. I found that bug in puppet job which only have tests with rdo or uca and I only observed the failure in uca jobs so I filed a bug for ubuntu packaging but there might be something "fixing" the issue in CentOS/RDO | 13:32 |
danfai_ | Quick question: In nova I saw that the name is sanitized to be used as a hostname. The hostname should then be maximum 63 characters long. In case you use a name that is longer, the last characters are truncated. If you now use the server create call to create multiple VMs, this length will be longer, since the -{index} is appended. Is this supposed to be like this? | 15:18 |
