MikeCTZAwe are having some issues with ec2/object store from our setup, it worked at one stage but now not (has been upgrade and things since it was used last), I suspect it is a keystone issue, I've asked in the keystone channel but was wondering if that was the best place to ask about ec2/object store related issues, preparing an email to send to the list now too06:55
fricklerMikeCTZA: the answer might depend on whether you are using swift or ceph-based storage08:01
MikeCTZAwe have swift configured in openstack talking to a ceph rgw backend, it is working in our test setup but not in production, so I'm trying to find any differences08:02
jrosserMikeCTZA: thats still not totally clear :) ceph rgw can present a swift compatible API as well as a partly s3 compatible one, or you can run the actual swift service to present the genuine swift API, and that can also do some s3 compatibility.......08:27
MikeCTZAjrosser: I didnt do the setup of this aspect in our kolla globals.yml we have enable_ceph_rgw: true # Feature from Xena onwards08:29
MikeCTZAenable_swift: "no" # Feature for swift on disk, not through ceph.08:29
MikeCTZAenable_swift_s3api: "yes"08:29
MikeCTZAis there something more to know which of the ones you mentioned we have08:29
jrosserthat is perhaps more a question for kolla08:31
jrosserimho the variable naming there is unclear with respect to s3api, but i have not used kolla myself to be able to help unfortunately08:31
jrosseri was really jut pointing out that referring to swift could mean the actual openstack service called 'swift', or it could refer to something else entirely like rgw providing a swift compatible api08:33
jrosserand then the s3 part is something slightly different again08:34
MikeCTZAjrosser: right, with you,I think it is something role/permissions (or tokens) inside openstack .. but I'm still trying to work this all out08:34
