LarsErikPhi. is there any real support for setting up apache with mod_proxy_uwsgi for glance? I can't really figure it out..08:11
LarsErikPI can't see that there is any code for actually installing and setting up the uwsgi daemon at all here? The glance-api-uwsgi.ini is useless on its own?08:30
tobias-urdinyea, the *::wsgi::usgi just does some minor uwsgi ini configuration using a provider, it's for debian packages which depends on/configures uwsgi and reads that config file08:51
tobias-urdinso it doesn't actually install uwsgi and manage all that08:51
LarsErikPright.. but the uca packages doesn't really install uwsgi :P08:51
tobias-urdinyes, it's debian distro specific not debian-based specific :)08:53
LarsErikPah right.. so it behaves differently in Debian, compare to Ubuntu?08:54
LarsErikPbrilliant :P08:55
tobias-urdinyes, debian is maintained by zigo and ubuntu (uca) by canonical08:57
zigoo/08:58
zigoLarsErikP: You do not need mod_proxy_uwsgi for Glance, the last Hibiscus release I did is using uwsgi directly.08:59
zigoHowever, there's a bug in uwsgi itself when you use TLS.08:59
zigohttps://bugs.debian.org/114970709:00
LarsErikPzigo: ok, but we're running Gazpacho on Ubuntu here09:00
zigoLarsErikP: I've pushed an updated package over here for Trixie: https://osbpo.debian.net/debian/pool/trixie-hibiscus-backports-nochange/main/u/uwsgi/09:01
zigoLarsErikP: In that case, I cannot help. I'm not Canonical support. Feel free to ask them! :)09:01
LarsErikPokok =) I was just trying to wrap my head around this was supposed to be done. As I found the openstack doc to be a bit.. lacking for this topic09:02
LarsErikPthey say "use uwsgi in http mode" but not.. how :p09:02
zigoWith Hibiscus, Glance lost support for the Eventlet based daemon, so I had no choice but to finish the fix, and understand where the uwsgi issue was. I was very surprised to find out this issue in uwsgi + TLS + chuncked transfer, but I'm very happy I have found the fix. :P09:03
LarsErikPgreat work!09:03
zigoBTW, IMO, using apache to serve OpenStack services is super lame.09:03
zigoThis means that restarting apache affects all attached services.09:03
zigoIn production, that's very annoying.09:04
LarsErikPyeah, but we're running all services in separate VMs, and haproxy in front. so it's fine09:04
LarsErikPso an apache restart only affects i.e glance on 1 of many haproxy backends09:05
tobias-urdinzigo: just a heads up on how we do it in production, mod_wsgi watches for timestamp changes on WSGIScriptAlias, so doing for example `touch /var/www/cgi-bin/gnocchi/app` will restart just the gnocchi api etc instead of restarting httpd, given that you want to restart the application and not restart httpd itself09:06
* tobias-urdin goes afk09:06
zigoNice, I didn't know this was even possible.09:09
zigoI still think Apache is the wrong tool for the job, btw.09:10
