* SotK makes a patch to make the search endpoint for stories accept the same filters as get_all10:21
SotKthis may be blurring the line between search/browse somewhat10:21
SotKso I'm not sure whether its the write approach10:21
SotKbut it allows one to enter a search term and then narrow the results further by adding filters10:22
SotKit also avoids the issue where the obvious path to searching stories (click stories, type in search box, select first option) leads to an error message because we already have a filter there10:22
openstackgerritAdam Coldrick proposed openstack-infra/storyboard: Add filters to the /v1/stories/search endpoint  https://review.openstack.org/38999710:29
* SotK goes to pack things for Barcelona10:30

zara_the_lemur__I suppose now is the time to learn where the hotel is13:48
zara_the_lemur__and, come to that, where the convention is13:49

zara_the_lemur__(re: search and browse, I think a good enough browse removes the need for a search anyway (maybe there's a case I'm not considering, though), and while storyboard currently keeps search and browse distinct, users don't, so it probably won't be a problem for people)14:04

SotKdmsimard: I guess commenting on this story might work: https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/200039717:20
SotKelse just mention it in this channel :)17:20
dmsimardSotK: so basically I was creating a number of stories and when you create each story, it puts you in the story. Then, when you click "create new", you have to select which project to create the story in. I just thought /maybe/ the project field could default to the project the story was in or something like that. Not sure if you understand.17:42
SotKdmsimard: that could get somewhat frustrating if the story you are currently looking at involved a number of projects I suspect18:32
SotKwe definitely could do with making the process for creating multiple stories in a given project at once a bit smoother though18:33
SotKI think there was some talk about making an interface somewhat like the interface for adding tasks to an existing story somehow18:34

zara_the_lemurhah, I missed the question earlier because the logs were too recent and hadn't loaded18:57
zara_the_lemuryeah, the issue is that stories aren't 'in' projects, but rather affect projects, and they can affect multiple projects (each task in a story is associated with one project).19:00
zara_the_lemur(And stories are linked to projects via tasks)19:00
zara_the_lemurwip explanation is at: https://storyboard.openstack.org/#!/story/2000667 , which might make that clearer. SO you could have a default for every task after the first (ie: it'd just be the same project as the last created task in that story)19:02
zara_the_lemurbut there's no obvious way to get a default project for the first task in a story. theoretically I guess you could search on terms the user types, and make a guess, but that's pretty complicated so I doubt anyone's rushing to implement it (I'm not)19:02
zara_the_lemur(there, I'm imagining something like the way in which virtualbox guesses which OS you want based on the title you give your VM)19:03
