tina2be | Hello everyone, I asked a question on #openstack and got a good response, but would like to see if anyone here has any other opinion : | 13:08 |
---|---|---|
tina2be | Hello everyone. Does an environment that has no developers and is using the default and vanilla openstack as the infra, need to have and run CI/CD solutions including Zuul? If yes so, what would be benefit of having such component and tool, and if not, I would appreciate if you clarify the reason. | 13:09 |
tina2be | Personally, what I think is that such solutions would be a benefit for companies coding in Nova and other components or trying to add some by themselves, so AFAIK environments with no developers could only use automation tools such an ansible since all they do is to deploy and test phases and pipelines would never get so much of a big deal to have a CICD solution. If I am wrong, I'd appreciate if you correct me. cheers. | 13:09 |
fungi | tina2be: sorry, i saw your earlier questions in #openstack-infra and answered there before checking here | 13:23 |
fungi | a lot of our contributors aren't around on weekends, and most are also in north america so weren't awake yet | 13:24 |
tina2be | fungi: thanks a lot buddy, I appreciate your help. | 13:26 |
tina2be | Aaaah you're right, I should notice different timezones, cheers ;) | 13:26 |
fungi | no worries. we _do_ have some very active contributors in other parts of the world, i suspect it's more just quiet because it's still the weekend in all of them ;) | 13:28 |
fungi | not to mention plunging deeper into the year-end holiday tunnel | 13:28 |
tina2be | Haha you're right. | 13:30 |
tina2be | Thanks anyway, I was nice to talk to you. | 13:31 |
fungi | and you as well! | 13:34 |
