Q-3 release 09:04:22 <hiro-kobayashi> Q3 has been released for blazar and python-blazarclient 09:05:06 <hiro-kobayashi> blazar-nova <https://review.openstack.org/#/c/538139/> and blazar-dashboard <https://review.openstack.org/#/c/538175/> have been still under review. 09:05:41 <priteau> python-blazarclient was released to PyPI finally :-) 09:05:46 <priteau> https://pypi.python.org/pypi/python-blazarclient/ 09:06:01 <hiro-kobayashi> Yes, great! 09:06:35 <hiro-kobayashi> masahito pushed openstack/requirements to add python-blazarclient to global-requirements 09:06:56 <hiro-kobayashi> https://review.openstack.org/#/c/539126/ 09:07:52 <hiro-kobayashi> It looks all comments for blazar-nova and blazar-dashboard have been reflected. So they will be released soon :-) 09:08:03 <hiro-kobayashi> Any comments? 09:08:53 <hiro-kobayashi> Next, #topic RC1 09:09:13 <hiro-kobayashi> https://releases.openstack.org/queens/schedule.html 09:09:34 <hiro-kobayashi> RC1 target week is Feb 05 - Feb 09. 09:10:23 <hiro-kobayashi> It's better to merge big patches before that. 09:11:32 <hiro-kobayashi> And patches with no more comments for a long time should be merged before that. 09:11:47 <priteau> I was busy with work meetings last week but hoping to take one last look at all the pending patches this week 09:12:11 <priteau> If no news from me by the end of the week, feel free to merge 09:12:21 <hiro-kobayashi> pritea: Thanks! OK. 09:13:18 <hiro-kobayashi> By the way, I've tested client with python3 and verified it works correctly :-) 09:14:00 <hiro-kobayashi> I also deployed blazar server side with python3, and it looks working good so far. 09:14:53 <priteau> I didn't manage to deploy DevStack with Python 3 on CentOS 7, it failed with an error unrelated to Blazar 09:15:37 <hiro-kobayashi> priteau: cheers! I used ubuntu. 09:15:38 <priteau> I need to try with another distribution 09:16:36 <hiro-kobayashi> Ubuntu 16 09:16:53 <hiro-kobayashi> Any comments on this topic? 09:16:55 <priteau> Does the old client (e.g. 0.3.0) work with the new server? 09:17:41 <priteau> If it doesn't we would put a warning message in release notes to upgrade clients 09:17:58 <hiro-kobayashi> I tested few cases but it worked. 09:18:27 <hiro-kobayashi> I'll test it more and I'll push warning message if it's needed. 09:19:27 <priteau> What about this patch, I see Masahito still has a -1 on it: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/533080/ 09:20:11 <hiro-kobayashi> That problem was because of the tempest plugin. 09:21:39 <hiro-kobayashi> The tempest plugin used json.loads which accept str. In python3, str is different from bytes. So it failed. 09:23:06 <hiro-kobayashi> To my understand, in Python2, json.loads can accept str, which means it also able to accept bytes in Ptython2 09:24:56 <hiro-kobayashi> So I expect 0.3.0 blazarclient can handle response from Python3 version of Blazar though the client uses json.loads. 09:25:41 <priteau> I will try it, deploying Ubuntu 16.04 now 09:25:55 <hiro-kobayashi> OK. thanks! 09:26:41 <hiro-kobayashi> If no other comments, let's move on to the next topic 09:27:29 <hiro-kobayashi> #topic 3. PTG planning 09:27:35 <hiro-kobayashi> https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/blazar-ptg-rocky 09:28:16 <hiro-kobayashi> New person on attendees list :-) 09:28:58 <hiro-kobayashi> He pushed a Blazar plugin for Heat. 09:29:52 <hiro-kobayashi> If you have any additional topics, please write them down. 09:30:08 <hiro-kobayashi> Any comments? 09:30:38 <hiro-kobayashi> #topic 4. OpenStack Summit CFP 09:31:11 <hiro-kobayashi> I created an etherpad page for drafting and reviewing CFP: https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/blazar-vancouver-cfp 09:31:22 <hiro-kobayashi> And I wrote 1 proposal. 09:31:50 <hiro-kobayashi> I appreciate it if you could review it. 09:31:52 <priteau> Who is planning to go to Vancouver? I will probably not go. 09:32:05 <hiro-kobayashi> masahito and I will go. 09:32:44 <hiro-kobayashi> Then we will have a remote conference. 09:33:00 <bertys> I cannot go to Vancouver.
