14:06:32 <jbernard> ok, welcome everyone

14:06:52 <jbernard> ^ new flamingo cycle meeting etherpad
14:07:10 <jbernard> first, again thanks to everyone that participated in the PTG
14:07:22 <jbernard> our etherpad: https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/apr2025-ptg-cinder
14:07:39 <jbernard> im working on the wiki and email summary today
14:08:01 <jbernard> i have the recordings (well, most of them) and those will be linked in the wiki once it's up
14:08:46 <jbernard> we covered many topics, one of my biggest take-aways was
14:09:06 <jbernard> (for me personally), there were several topics that were carry-overs from previous cycles
14:09:32 <jbernard> and some of them just needed reviews and feedback to move forward
14:10:03 <jbernard> so one of my goals this cycles, aside from being more organized, is to try to reduce the number of carry-overs in the next PTG
14:10:49 <jbernard> so helpful reviews on things like volume type metadata, encryption, backup patch queue, etc
14:11:06 <jbernard> and I'm going to try to work on those things early in the cycle (as much as possible)
14:11:57 <jbernard> one thing ive learned in the last cycle or two is that there's never enough time in the second half of the cycle
14:12:10 <jbernard> so im going to try to procastinate less and prioritize a bit better
14:12:11 <simondodsley> so true
14:12:13 <jbernard> we'll see how i do
14:13:46 <jbernard> for code-related things,
14:14:01 <jbernard> we need to try to remove eventlet
14:14:19 <jbernard> ive offered to take care of the calls to .sleep()
14:14:28 <jbernard> eharney is looking at the tpool.Proxy() usage
14:14:47 <jbernard> this should be ~95% of our usage, based on git-grep
14:15:31 <jbernard> if anyone has insights, ideas, time for coding, etc, patches are more than welcome
14:16:21 <jbernard> i kept track of action items during the PTG (line 43 of the etherpad)
14:16:41 <jbernard> which, among the other things, is kindof a todo list
14:16:59 <jbernard> so ill be able to compare progress with current state later on
14:18:06 <jbernard> i think for general updates, that's all i have
14:18:24 <jbernard> everything else is ongoing efforts in development and reviews
14:18:46 <jbernard> we can open to general discussion, and reclaim time if it's not needed
14:18:54 <jbernard> #topic open discussion
14:19:30 <rosmaita> don't forget about bobcat final release coming up
14:19:41 <rosmaita> simondodsley: i think you had something you wanted to get in to that?
14:19:42 <jbernard> how could we!?
14:20:35 <simondodsley> rosmaita: yes - there are 2 patches waiting on a second stable core
14:20:52 <jbernard> simondodsley: can you post links?
14:21:04 <rosmaita> simondodsley: can you add them to the etherpad: https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/cinder-stable-bobcat-eol
14:21:06 <simondodsley> they are currently waiting on caracal before i backport to bobcat
14:22:36 <jbernard> unrelated, im going to create a separate etherpad for review requests, accumulating them in meeting minutes is not scalable (for me at least)
14:24:33 <jbernard> #link https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/cinder-flamingo-reviews
14:25:14 <rosmaita> what would be good is if people who posted a review request also listed a patch that they have reviewed
14:25:37 <jbernard> rosmaita: yes, i would like that ^ in the instruction section
14:25:59 <jbernard> and also an irc nick so i can ping quickly if needed
14:26:11 <jbernard> (if possible)
14:28:22 <jbernard> ok, last call
14:29:15 <jbernard> thanks everyone!
