19:01:12 <spotz> Hey
19:01:33 <fungi> ohai
19:01:53 <spotz> cdent do you want me to move the meeting time part of the agenda up in case you need to go I know it's latish(sp)
19:02:34 <cdent> spotz: no, my half here-ness isn't due to time, just the usual continuous partial attention on many things
19:02:46 <fungi> how existential
19:02:46 <spotz> Okie:)

19:04:26 <spotz> For those who haven't filled it out yet to give you a chance before we get there:)
19:04:38 <spotz> #topic Summit Recap
19:09:40 <spotz> So I have to say I walked away from the summit with the feeling there was a lot of missed opportunities for this group. While there was a keynote we weren't involves in it and there was no mention of our programs(mentoring was briefly mentioned) and the survey at all anywhere. At the networking lunch it was nice to see a wider group of people but again another missed opportunity for this group to get our pro
19:09:40 <spotz> grams out, it wasn't even known we drove the chacnge from WoO to diversity. We had a good turnout for speed mentoring, it was a little disorganized then in the past but notes for next time are to make our own table signs and numbers. Our 2 WG/BoFo sessions were barely attended but that might have been the room location
19:10:34 <fungi> i think it was entirely that
19:10:52 <fungi> i had sessions i needed to be in bookending those in the other end of the venue
19:10:54 <cdent> I think part of the reason the summit as a whole felt weirdly relaxed was because there were clear boundaries in space between things, too clear
19:11:08 <cdent> like, not relaxed good
19:11:23 <cdent> but relaxed like "we've not quite got the time/energy to talk about stuff"
19:11:33 <cdent> so let's just kinda hang out
19:11:35 <cdent> and that was nice
19:11:39 <cdent> but felt ineffective
19:12:06 <spotz> The ghost tour I think was a success we had a few new faces there. There was no alcohol free section at the mixer, there were options but they were next to beer. And no one knew about the gender stickers until the feedback sessions:( They apparently arrived on Wednesday
19:12:36 <fungi> yeah, those were unfortunately delayed
19:12:51 <fungi> like the socks which were stuck in customs for a week
19:13:33 <fungi> the pronoun stickers were supposed to be on hand that weekend
19:13:49 <fungi> once they arrived at least they got put out at registration and at the osf staff booth
19:14:08 <fungi> but... disappointing to say the least
19:15:28 <spotz> I know it wasn't my best summit and it wasn't for lack of trying to be everywhere, coordinate and so on
19:17:31 <spotz> Anyways hoping Denver will be better and this group will get more exposure and out of it. The Mentoring panel actually turned ito a BoF session as a few people in the audience were active so maybe we'll manage to revive that
19:18:14 <spotz> Anything else on summit?
19:18:29 <fungi> it was good to see you all
19:19:16 <spotz> It was good to see you too:)
19:21:10 <spotz> #topic Diversity Survey
19:22:59 <spotz> aprice is in the UC meeting or at least the channel. I don't think anyone actually started our meeting over there. I had sent out another email before summit and a tweet or 2. I know Ell never did the SU article as she got busy and is travelling. Last count we only had 43 responses which is why the lack of 'support' at summit really hurt
19:23:56 <aprice> o/
19:24:11 <spotz> Hey
19:24:59 <spotz> Any chance we can get a count update?
19:25:33 <aprice> Sure let me pull
19:27:05 <cdent> I probably knew this, but have forgotten (see above about attention): How/when/where was the survey announced?
19:27:23 <aprice> And that's good feedback on the Summit support. I think with all of the things going on, we just have to be very organized on the things we want to promote. Happy to get the Summit team involved in a broader debrief if you would like spotz
19:28:09 <spotz> aprice: sure
19:28:33 <spotz> cdent back in Ausgust, then again in early November. I'd have to check sent for exact dates
19:28:54 <fungi> to mailing lists, right?
19:29:19 <aprice> there are 88 responses
19:30:25 <spotz> Ok so we've doubles atleast with the reminder but I think still too low to send for analysis
19:30:43 <diablo_rojo> So its only been sent to ML's?
19:30:47 <spotz> fungi: yeah all the lists except the language ones I think
19:30:56 <spotz> And my twitter feed
19:31:27 <diablo_rojo> spotz, it could go out from the OpenStack twitter handle too
19:31:37 <diablo_rojo> aprice, can you do that? Or should I poke Sunny?
19:32:23 <aprice> diablo_rojo i can and I think that we sent a few tweets from the openstack handle when we first launched.
19:32:47 <aprice> we are also doing bi-weekly community newsletters and while the first one is about to ship, we can include it in the next one.
19:32:51 <diablo_rojo> aprice, oh okay I must've missed those.
19:32:58 <fungi> any volunteers to do the superuser article ellopunk was originally planning to write?
19:33:10 <diablo_rojo> aprice, lol just messaged you/chris about that.
19:34:32 <spotz> fungi: I can try to get it done, it won't be the wordiest though
19:35:18 <diablo_rojo> spotz, I'm happy to look at/build out stuff if you have a first draft you want to share
19:35:52 <spotz> And at this point we might not want to push anything until after first as folks emails will be swamped if they took time off
19:37:03 <spotz> diablo_rojo: ok
19:37:12 <spotz> Anything else on the survey?
19:37:34 <aprice> i have a question
19:37:37 <spotz> ok
19:37:49 <aprice> how many submissions are we hoping to get to before closing? Or will it just be open?
19:40:04 <spotz> Last time I think we had at least 250, I'd be happy if we got half that was the overall population of the community has decreased. We just need enough of a sample size to be valid
19:40:55 <spotz> That make sense?
19:41:43 <aprice> yep, makes sense.
19:41:50 <spotz> Ok last topic
19:41:55 <spotz> #topic meeting time
19:43:24 <spotz> So from the 4 responses, it looks like moving the meeting up an hour, at 18:00UTC Mondays has the most responses of 4. So that for now would be noonCDT, 2:00 EDT, 6:00 England and 7:00 Germany. With going to an hour later when we time shift
19:44:26 <spotz> SO a little earlier for cdent and cmurphy or as rocky was a maybe we could go to 17:00
19:44:57 <spotz> Course I did just schedule something at work for that time
19:45:34 <cdent> I can adjust, quite a lot, especialy on mondays
19:46:12 <fungi> that time works fine for me, but i'll make just about any option work so didn't bother to fill out the chart
19:46:54 <diablo_rojo> Yeah same, my Mondays are largely empty
19:46:55 <spotz> Ok lets go with 18:00 as it had all 4 votes in green then
19:47:28 <spotz> I'll update the repo and send something out to the lists later. Anyone have anything else on meeting times?
19:49:34 <spotz> Ok moving on
19:49:35 <fungi> thanks for working through that!
19:49:39 <spotz> NP
19:49:49 <spotz> #topic Open Discussion
19:49:57 <spotz> If anyone has anything?
19:51:02 <spotz> Going once
19:51:05 <cdent> not me, thanks for keeping the ball rolling :)
19:51:16 <spotz> Going Twice
19:51:21 <spotz> You're welcome cdent
