17:05:14 <openstack> The meeting name has been set to 'diversity_wg'
17:05:15 <spotz> #topic roll call
17:05:46 <spotz> Sorry I was a few minutes was discussing GDPR on work slack
17:06:21 <fungi> i hope you at least provided a provision for removing personal information from all records of that discussion ;)
17:06:53 <spotz> hehe, more like can we email people to tell them we have a release coming they might want to know about. Oh wait can we mail them?:)
17:07:04 <spotz> #topic Mentoring
17:07:21 <spotz> If megheisler or petevg are here and want to update just pipe in
17:07:55 <spotz> But I believe megheisler said they've reached out to the few new people, but mailing list and channel I know are still dead quiet
17:08:04 <petevg> I am here, kind of (eating lunch at a conference).
17:08:21 <spotz> Happy conference:) Anything you want to add to that summary?
17:08:30 <petevg> I reached out to mentors, and I intend to do a second flurry of emails this week.
17:08:38 <spotz> Cool thanks
17:08:43 <petevg> If I can slip it in between the conferencing :-)
17:08:52 <fungi> thanks petevg and megheisler!
17:08:54 <petevg> No problem!
17:09:04 <spotz> We do appreciate it!
17:09:07 <fungi> your diligence and persistence are appreciated, yes
17:09:21 <spotz> We will now move on so you can eat:)
17:09:26 <spotz> #topic GHC
17:09:34 <petevg> I will endvour to keep being diligent and persistent. :-)
17:10:11 <spotz> jproulix stepped up and will be co leading the session. MIT got back to him really quickly to approve his going:)
17:10:25 <fungi> that's so awesome
17:10:55 <fungi> he's an excellent representative of our community/culture
17:11:13 <spotz> RDO offered to pay for my flight:) Woodwynd Dalmatians is providing me a room and use of a vehicle most likely the dog show van so folks will definitely know when I'm on the grounds:)
17:12:10 <spotz> Started playing with the donated City Network infrastructure last night and reached out to Florian and Tobias with some questions. I think I just need to build bigger VMs
17:12:54 <spotz> So everything on that end is coming together. Jill and Rain will both be there and offered tp help and Julia offered to pop in but can't stay all day
17:13:22 <spotz> So we might actually have some people in the room besides the leaders who know what OpenStack is:)
17:13:26 <fungi> sounds like we'll be well-represented there. thanks for going
17:13:54 <spotz> My oleasure glad we could get it all worked out
17:14:42 <spotz> Anything else on GHC?
17:15:23 <spotz> #topic Summit
17:17:01 <spotz> So while cmurphy and fungi are both going to Summit, I think last meeting we decided we weren't going to have coverage to do forum/BoF/etc. I have not reached out to Erin, Kendall or Ashley to see if we have sponsors for the Speed Mentoring or Diversity Lunch or if they're even on the agenda
17:17:18 <cmurphy> *tentatively going
17:17:34 <spotz> cmurphy: noted:)
17:17:44 <fungi> everything's tentative for me when there's a visa to obtain and unpredictable weather off the coast
17:18:05 <SWDevAngel> Sorry... just catching up. Really glad to hear GHC worked out. Great job for sticking with that Amy! And what a cool crew... tell them all I said hi! :)
17:18:32 <spotz> And with the tight busy schedules best to not take the room space up then risk having them empty due to conflicts with no extra coverage
17:18:38 <spotz> SWDevAngel: Will do
17:20:02 <spotz> If the lunch events take place I'll try to coordinate and make sure everything needed from us is done
17:20:22 <spotz> Anything else for Summit at this point?
17:21:45 <spotz> #topic Other Business
17:22:57 <spotz> As mentioned earlier tomorrow might is the OSF b-day party in Austin and I think they're going to have a nice diverse crowd with some people who don't normally come to the meetups. Unless folks backout I will not be the only female in attendance:). SWDevAngel you want to report on how your event last night?
17:23:25 <spotz> Or last week actually now
17:25:40 <fungi> (not much in the way of osf birthday celebrations where i am, as i'm at least 4 hours from the next nearest stacker by car)
17:27:33 <spotz> fungi: You could come visit tomorrow!
17:27:48 <spotz> And I think we lost SWDevAngel:)
17:28:02 <spotz> Anyone else have anything before we close out and get time back?
17:28:37 <fungi> seems like not
17:28:48 <SWDevAngel> sorry
17:28:53 <SWDevAngel> got pulled into something
17:29:00 <SWDevAngel> was just gonna say we had a great 9th bday party meetup this week
17:29:16 <fungi> awesome!
17:29:34 <spotz> I kow you're were pusshing the women's t-shirts:)
17:30:28 <SWDevAngel> We showcased Kata Containers, Kubernetes on OpenStack (Jonathan G. from OpenShift presented that... his team wrote some of the reference architecture. And Edge Computing (with Akriano) plus some cool open source project lightning talks, including one on community burnout. It was fun. Cupcakes and all! :)
17:30:45 <SWDevAngel> If I can figure out that Flickr account I"ll post lots of pics. (Of course I took them all and am in NONE of them! LOL!)
17:31:03 <spotz> :)
17:31:53 <SWDevAngel> We made "For the Love of Open" stickers. You saw some of that on Twitter I think. :)
17:32:01 <spotz> Yep
17:32:16 <fungi> sounds like a blast
17:32:29 <SWDevAngel> That looked cool on the cupcakes too, but they printed the rest of the logos WAY too small. Urgh! Oh well. They were tasty. We even made gluten free salted caramel cupcakes for Rocky and me. :)
17:32:56 <spotz> Nice!
17:33:01 <SWDevAngel> It was fun. LONG meetup. 2+ hours of content. But it was packed. 2 women presented for the FIRST TIME so I was glad to give them the opportunity!
17:33:06 <spotz> Ok anyone else have anything?
17:33:15 <SWDevAngel> (Ironically both were from Ukraine. They were both SO nervous but did GREAT!)
17:33:31 <spotz> Nice
17:33:43 <SWDevAngel> And a third woman from Rancher also presented. so I had 50% women presenters! :)
17:33:51 <spotz> Woot!
17:33:57 <SWDevAngel> I was proud of that. I should have done a selfie with us. :)
17:34:13 <fungi> marvellous
17:34:31 <spotz> Ok lets close the log out and everythone can have 30 minutes back. If needed I'm a ping away:)
17:34:39 <spotz> #endmeeting
