14:01:02 <openstack> The meeting name has been set to 'glance'
14:01:04 <jokke_> #topic roll-call
14:01:07 <jokke_> o/
14:01:26 <abhishekk> o/
14:01:32 <jokke_> #link https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/glance-team-meeting-agenda
14:02:05 <abhishekk> (Might be late in response, I am joining from mobile, we have holiday today in India)
14:02:36 <jokke_> ahh
14:02:58 <rosmaita> o/
14:03:20 <jokke_> I think we have a quorum so lets kick off. RC1
14:03:25 <jokke_> #topic release updates
14:03:58 <abhishekk> #link https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/glance-stein-milestone-3
14:04:28 <abhishekk> https://review.openstack.org/#/c/643336/1 only this patch is remaining
14:04:58 <abhishekk> this is related to windows support and submitted in last week (related to sleep statement in tests)
14:06:00 <jokke_> I think we have 3 patches to merge which of 2 I'll make: the "description" common property, renos and configs
14:07:16 <abhishekk> I have question with description, should we have any test to confirm description is available in the image as property?
14:07:40 <abhishekk> though it is working (less important at the moment)
14:08:16 <rosmaita> it is just a normal custom property
14:08:23 <jokke_> abhishekk: so it might or might not be there
14:08:33 <rosmaita> so covered by reglar image metadata tests already
14:08:39 <abhishekk> ok, then no problem
14:09:12 <jokke_> it's just custom property which would be, after this patch, listed in the schema under common properties so it's more discuverable where the description info should go
14:09:43 <abhishekk> good to go then
14:10:13 <jokke_> there is literally almost no risk with the change, it's more of documenting that "Hey use this property name for the purpose" than anything else
14:10:39 <abhishekk> cool
14:12:03 <jokke_> is there anything else critical we have missed? I just +2d that sleep patch, it affects only tests but reno perspective it would be nice
14:12:55 <abhishekk> nope
14:13:02 <jokke_> cool!
14:13:11 <jokke_> I think we're in pretty nice shape then
14:13:27 <jokke_> Any news from the periodic tests?
14:13:51 <abhishekk> those py35 tests are still failing
14:14:01 <jokke_> yeah
14:14:03 <abhishekk> Enterpreter not found
14:14:39 <abhishekk> ERROR: functional-py35: InterpreterNotFound: python3.5
14:15:08 <rosmaita> sorry, had system problems ... what did i miss?
14:15:17 <jokke_> that sounds like infra issue
14:15:38 <jokke_> rosmaita: the y35 tests are still failing with interpreter not found failure on periodics
14:15:44 <jokke_> py35
14:15:54 <rosmaita> i agree, sounds like an infra problem
14:15:55 <abhishekk> yes
14:16:08 <jokke_> ok, lets move on
14:16:20 <jokke_> #topic 'description' common image property
14:16:25 <jokke_> #link https://review.openstack.org/#/c/623405/
14:16:42 <jokke_> The spec lite ^^
14:16:47 <jokke_> #link https://review.openstack.org/#/c/620433/
14:16:53 <jokke_> The patch itself ^^
14:17:13 <rosmaita> yeah, sorry this is coming in so late, but it's a real low-risk thing
14:17:25 <abhishekk> I have added +2, looks good to me
14:17:26 <rosmaita> and a popular request
14:17:30 <jokke_> abhishekk: you're ok with that? Do you have possibility to drop +2 on that spec lite at least?
14:17:38 <jokke_> abhishekk: great thanks
14:18:05 <abhishekk> rosmaita, it's my fault I missed it to add in the etherpad at first place :(
14:18:28 <jokke_> Lets get it in before pushing the RC1 button then :D
14:18:38 <abhishekk> yep
14:18:55 <rosmaita> np, i only found it again because zuul has updated a bunch of reviews for no apparent reason and it came to the top
14:18:55 <jokke_> I think smcginnis is not around
14:19:49 <jokke_> I'll +W the spec and take his rage if so ;)
14:20:18 <abhishekk> jokke_, the test patch which you have added +2 the title is still WIP
14:20:20 <rosmaita> i think he'll be OK with it, Cinder has a 'description' field on volumes
14:20:25 <jokke_> ok both --> gate
14:20:28 <abhishekk> should we consider it for release?
14:21:11 <jokke_> I think we're done with 'description'
14:21:25 <jokke_> #topic Windows compatibility
14:21:41 <jokke_> Ok, the test sleep patch
14:21:41 <lpetrut> Hi :)
14:22:18 <abhishekk> yeah, that patch title still mentions WIP
14:22:22 <lpetrut> I've marked that as WIP as there were a few other tests that were failing and wanted to fix those as well (not necessarily by sleeping)
14:22:40 <jokke_> If I understood correctly the tests will run but they fail intermittenly. Which means we can claim the compatibility on Stein release. Only reason I'd like to get that patch in even if we refactor it is that the tests would actually run reliably
14:23:26 <jokke_> lpetrut: ah, there's more?
14:23:36 <lpetrut> I've just submitted another patch set, dropping the "WIP" tag and making the sleep platform dependent
14:23:51 <jokke_> kk
14:23:54 <lpetrut> jokke_ yeah, there was one other functional test that had a similar issue
14:24:45 <jokke_> Like said it's not release critical, so if it doesn't make it to RC1 no-one needs to loose their sleep over it, it would be just nice to know that our testing is actually successful if we claim compatibility
14:24:55 <abhishekk> agree
14:25:03 <rosmaita> agree
14:25:08 <smcginnis> jokke_: Sorry, I'm here (kind of). Let me know if you need to take a look at anything.
14:25:23 <lpetrut> sorry that it takes a bit longer than expected to bring up the CI. the guy working on it left when it was almost done :)
14:25:45 <abhishekk> ohh
14:25:52 <jokke_> smcginnis: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/623405/ https://review.openstack.org/#/c/620433/ you can still block them merging if you have heavy objections
14:26:07 <smcginnis> jokke_: Thanks, will take a look now.
14:26:11 <jokke_> smcginnis: last minute thing before release :)
14:26:16 <smcginnis> ;)
14:26:36 <jokke_> smcginnis: as usual I just wanted to have all cores onboard for the spec
14:27:04 <smcginnis> All good to me.
14:27:11 <jokke_> ty!
14:27:35 <jokke_> we'll have release patch for you today, don't merge the kendall's one for now ;)
14:27:44 <jokke_> still renos and config refres pending
14:27:49 <jokke_> on top of that
14:27:54 <smcginnis> Got it
14:28:07 <rosmaita> what about abhishek's scrubber multi-backend patch?
14:28:24 <abhishekk> that we should move to T
14:28:28 <rosmaita> ok
14:28:37 <jokke_> kk
14:28:49 <jokke_> ok lets open up
14:28:55 <jokke_> #topic open discussion
14:29:19 <rosmaita> is there anything else we need other than config refresh and releasenotes?
14:29:34 <abhishekk> nothing
14:29:37 <jokke_> First of all, Thanks guys!!! We got there yet again. Amazing pull for a cycle
14:29:50 <abhishekk> \o/
14:30:02 <smcginnis> woot
14:30:27 <jokke_> Lets put up fresh etherpad for Stein final and collect any bugfixes we might need/want to get in post RC1
14:30:27 <rosmaita> \o\
14:30:56 <rosmaita> sounds good
14:31:02 <abhishekk> +1
14:31:23 <rosmaita> we also need to think about glance_store
14:31:25 <jokke_> We can start planning and looking into Train development soon but lets prioritize at least the coming week to nail any bugs we have across glance, glance_store and python-glanceclient
14:31:56 <abhishekk> ok
14:32:00 <smcginnis> Good plan
14:32:35 <jokke_> As usual normal stable branch rules applies from now on
14:32:40 <abhishekk> (Please approve stable patches as well, if everything is ok with those)
14:32:46 <rosmaita> quick question -- who is going to do the config refresh patch?
14:32:59 <jokke_> so anything going to RC2 etc. Needs to be backportable
14:33:15 <jokke_> rosmaita: I'll push it after the meeting
14:33:21 <rosmaita> ++
14:33:44 <abhishekk> ack
14:34:16 <jokke_> I think we have considered that as doc change as they are examples so don't need to keep abhishekk tied to work on his day off if rosmaita has time to approve them
14:34:34 <rosmaita> yes, i can to that
14:34:40 <jokke_> great
14:34:43 <abhishekk> if required I will be there :D
14:34:44 <rosmaita> *do
14:34:48 <abhishekk> thank you :D
14:35:08 <jokke_> and I have the reno done while the configs are running check
14:35:20 <abhishekk> great
14:35:37 <jokke_> the reno will need bit of time and forcus as we have some renos already submitted and some not
14:35:58 <abhishekk> you need reno for cache-management for sure
14:36:36 <jokke_> I think that's all folks
14:36:42 <jokke_> anything else?
14:37:03 <rosmaita> what do you need me to do today?
14:37:11 <jokke_> abhishekk: can you hang on just 2min after we wrap up, I'd like to check something with you before you continue your day off?
14:37:26 <abhishekk> yes
14:37:51 <jokke_> rosmaita: merge the configs and renos once they are up (I'll ping you so no need to sit and wait them)
14:37:59 <jokke_> rosmaita: I think that's it
14:38:07 <rosmaita> ok, cool, i will watch for your pings
14:38:14 <jokke_> cheers bud
14:38:21 <abhishekk> just to update, tomorrow I will be on leave, but will be available on Telegram
14:38:22 <rosmaita> :D
14:38:50 <rosmaita> abhishekk: we should be ok, enjoy your leave
14:38:52 <jokke_> abhishekk: I very much hope nothing is burning on the scale we need to bother your day off
14:39:01 <rosmaita> what jokke_ said
14:39:17 <jokke_> abhishekk: you feeling better?
14:39:21 <abhishekk> rosmaita, jokke_ thank you
