14:06:35 <smcginnis> :)
14:07:03 <jokke_> First things first, I want to take silent minute. Abhishek is not joining us today as his uncle passed. So our deepest condolences to him and his family.
14:08:20 <davee__> ahh, was wondering where he was today
14:08:47 <smcginnis> Oh, really sorry to hear that.
14:08:53 <rosmaita> my condolences also to abhishekk & his family
14:13:35 <jokke__> sorry my irc screen server just lost network
14:14:05 <jokke__> #topic updates
14:14:33 <jokke__> aand ofc this does not get recognied by the bot
14:14:45 <jokke__> ok lets keep going
14:14:57 <smcginnis> Huh, weird.
14:15:20 <smcginnis> That might mean the meeting will have to just time out if the bot doesn't recognize you as the chair anymore.
14:15:46 <jokke__> yeah, or when jokke_ finally times out, I might get the control after changing nick
14:16:15 <jokke__> anyways, updates & release updates:
14:16:28 <jokke__> Train got out yesterday! \\o \o/ o// o/7

14:17:33 <smcginnis> s/Woot/Choo/ :)
14:17:49 <jokke__> This also concludes my role as PTL. Abhishek is taking over and will be also running the meetings in future.
14:18:08 <smcginnis> jokke__: Thank you for all your work!
14:18:20 <davee__> yes, thank you
14:18:44 <jokke__> I will stick around and focus on the list of Edge/multistore related features we have piling up and ofc lots of reviews
14:18:59 <jokke__> so you don't get rid of me this easy :P
14:19:11 <smcginnis> Great to hear
14:19:19 <rosmaita> \o/
14:19:42 <davee__> no gold watch for jokke
14:20:08 <jokke__> davee__: nope, but I have seriously my eyes on steel Breitling :P
14:21:27 <jokke__> periodic jobs have been green apart from 1 post failure over last week so nothing alarming there and I haven't heard nor noticed that our release would have broken he world either
14:21:42 <jokke__> s/he/the/
14:22:29 <jokke__> #link https://etherpad.openstack.org/p/Glance-Ussuri-PTG-planning
14:22:47 <jokke__> ^^ as name suggest there is PTG planning doc. Please give your input
14:23:02 <jokke__> the Summit/PTG is approaching quickly
14:23:42 <jokke__> And that's all we have in the agenda
14:23:54 <jokke__> ----------------Open-Discussion---------------------
14:23:58 <jokke__> Anyone else
14:24:04 <smcginnis> Some great topics on the planning etherpad. Good to see that.
14:24:29 <smcginnis> Leaving the team photo a dinner planning to Abhishek?
14:26:06 <jokke__> For now, lets see. He was very unsure about the Visa situation, but I haven't heard any news about thta since last week
14:26:38 <smcginnis> Oh right, I think I remember him mentioning that the visas from India were being restricted. I hope that works out for him.
14:26:46 <jokke__> if he will not be there, I'll take on the on-site planning
14:27:03 <jokke__> yes indeed, hopefully h will get his visa
14:27:51 <davee__> What is the difference between Per store image import and import image in multiple stores?
14:27:56 <jokke__> ok, anything else?
14:28:20 <davee__> they seem to be similar from the titles on PTG page
14:28:53 <jokke__> davee__: I think it's duplicate
14:29:17 <jokke__> as well as I think there is double the cinder multistore support with bit different wording
14:29:42 <davee__> It looks like some dependencies with all of the multistore mentions
14:31:09 <jokke__> In general we have 2 holes to fill. we have no way to add image to a store it's not in or is getting added to the stores list and we have no way to import images into multiple stores. So those are something I'm trying to get addressed very early on the cycle
14:32:29 <jokke__> There are few design questions still about what are the right things to do and we need to change some of the locations logic under the hood.
14:33:16 <jokke__> After that we likely need to address the cluster awareness so we get reliable deletes and also can improve the caching a lot
14:35:31 <jokke__> Anything else?
14:35:38 <nao-shark> May I ask some questions?
14:35:43 <jokke__> sure, shoot
14:35:51 <nao-shark> I previously proposed a spec for S3 driver support and that will be discussed at Ussuri PTG.
14:36:03 <nao-shark> I would like to know what is the subject of discussion because I will also take part in PTG.
14:36:11 <nao-shark> for example, who is the maintainer? or how to test it?
14:37:16 <jokke__> Yes so normally we discuss proposed features in the deign sessions. All those things you mentioned, also the usecase and how viable the proposal is
14:37:41 <jokke__> so if you are going to be there, please join us and you can even take the lead of the session
14:39:14 <smcginnis> nao-shark: I do think you've pointed out the two main concerns though - we just need to make sure if a new driver is added that there is going to be someone to support it and make sure it is well tested.
14:40:33 <nao-shark> I get it. Thanks.
14:40:36 <jokke__> indeed and specially with s3 I think the long term commitment for it is important as it's not that long ago when s3 support was removed from openstack as no-one reported using it and no-one was maintaining it
14:41:19 <jokke__> so be prepared to answer the question "Why we should do this?" ;)
14:42:35 <jokke_> ha, got my connection back
14:42:46 <nao-shark> Yes, I think I can prepare these answers.
14:42:53 <jokke_> great
14:44:16 <jokke_> nao-shark: also if you have some time slots you know would suite you well or specially not suite you at all because you have something else where you need to be, please add to that etherpad so we can timebox the topic if needed
14:45:25 <jokke_> anything else?
14:46:07 <jokke_> going once
14:46:26 <jokke_> going twice
14:46:48 <davee__> sold to the man with the Timex watch
14:47:05 <jokke_> Sold! Thanks everybody. Have your extra 14min and be productive with it ;)
