14:02:29 <mnasiadka> * Current cycle planning
14:02:43 <mnasiadka> * Open discussion
14:02:45 <mnasiadka> #topic CI status
14:02:52 <mnasiadka> I think we finally got again to a working state
14:03:06 <mnasiadka> but since we switched to Epoxy sources - probably there will be some minimal mayhem
14:03:32 <mnasiadka> #topic Release tasks
14:03:45 <mnasiadka> Only task for this week was switching to Epoxy sources, so I think we're done for now
14:03:51 <mnasiadka> #topic Current cycle planning
14:04:10 <mnasiadka> #link https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/KollaWhiteBoard#L226
14:04:14 <mnasiadka> The priorities are here
14:06:15 <mnasiadka> I'll add some more like Ansible bump, MariaDB bump, RabbitMQ things
14:07:16 <mnasiadka> I also did some work on the uWSGI things - we should be on a good way to convert all standalone services
14:07:23 <jayjahns> Would like to talk about adding something to that list in open discussion
14:07:39 <mnasiadka> https://review.opendev.org/q/topic:%22kolla_uwsgi%22
14:08:02 <mnasiadka> cores - if you can have a look - I'd like Nova to be the example I will follow on all other services
14:08:19 <mnasiadka> let's go further
14:08:29 <mnasiadka> #topic Open discussion
14:08:33 <mnasiadka> anybody anything?
14:08:40 <jayjahns> Yes - would like 2 items to have more eyes on
14:08:50 <jayjahns> https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla/+/937057
14:09:03 <jayjahns> and https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla-ansible/+/937066
14:09:11 <SvenKieske> bookmarked the uwsgi stuff for the weekend, maybe I can smuggle a laptop to the family ;)
14:09:16 <mnasiadka> Are we sure we need this? OVN core is adding BGP support as we speak
14:09:24 <mnasiadka> And then OVN BGP agent will be dropped most likely
14:09:42 <mnasiadka> Adding a service for a cycle or two sounds like a lot of effort review-wise
14:10:09 <mnasiadka> Not even saying that without a CI job that tests this in Kolla-Ansible - that's going to be hard to merge
14:10:10 <jayjahns> I think thats the OVN native BGP, which still requires the agent
14:10:20 <mnasiadka> No, that's not the OVN native BGP
14:10:24 <mnasiadka> It will not require an agent
14:10:44 <jayjahns> Do you have a link for this
14:11:38 <jayjahns> The agent also does EVPN but the new changes don't have that, because the old change spent about.6 months in WIP
14:12:34 <mnasiadka> #link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCKNrAdISWY
14:12:42 <mnasiadka> amongst some others
14:13:24 <mnasiadka> I know that people might be wanting something working today, not in a cycle or two - but I don't know if it's worth the effort
14:13:39 <jayjahns> Thanks. So basically to add that we would need a CI job to validate it is what you're saying
14:14:01 <mnasiadka> Basically setting up an env for testing these patches and understanding how OVN BGP agent works is going to be a not so small effort
14:14:30 <mnasiadka> and yes, we would need a CI job - at least for the most common and simple scenario
14:14:32 <jayjahns> Okay - well this is def a priority for us as we need this in production to be able to advertise floating IPs from different locations
14:15:51 <jayjahns> We can look at the other pieces that you linked and see if thats a natural iteration for us, but we rely on kolla for our production environment too, so anything we have to maintain outside of that is obv a challenge
14:16:12 <mnasiadka> Ok, I'm not going to say that this is high priority for us - and basically OVN related patches are reviewed mainly by StackHPC (so me and Bartosz) - so we might squeeze it somewhere along the road, but we need good docs and a CI job that validates that it works
14:16:52 <mnasiadka> Hope that clarifies a bit... I'm sorry that I don't have a better message :)
14:17:18 <mnasiadka> Anything else for Open Discussion?
14:17:21 <jayjahns> It does. I would like feedback on any docs that need to be clarified for that purpose, and we can talk later about ci job.
14:18:40 <jayjahns> Also i had one more item.
14:19:05 <jayjahns> key type for letsencrypt
14:19:06 <jayjahns> https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla-ansible/+/934683
14:19:23 <jayjahns> https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/kolla/+/934681
14:19:44 <mnasiadka> I think it's next on the Let's Encrypt radar - first we're trying to merge the EAB support - so just be patient :)
14:19:48 <mnasiadka> kevko: ^^
14:20:12 <mnasiadka> jayjahns: I'll comment on the bgp agent kolla-ansible patch what type of docs do we need and where they should be added
14:20:35 <jayjahns> Thanks - that is all I have.
14:20:59 <mnasiadka> Great
14:21:11 <mnasiadka> I guess the rest is completely silent on the meeting ;-)
14:21:25 <mnasiadka> Thanks for coming, cores - keep reviewing patches and stable backports :)
14:21:29 <mnasiadka> See you next week
