18:01:01 <openstack> The meeting name has been set to 'networking_policy'
18:01:16 <SumitNaiksatam> i dont have much on the agenda for today
18:01:31 <SumitNaiksatam> was wondering if annakk had any feedback from the Vancouver summit
18:01:46 <SumitNaiksatam> (thanks for the earlier email update and email thread)
18:01:55 <annakk> it was a good one. lost of edge talks
18:02:05 <annakk> lots of unknown :)
18:02:11 <SumitNaiksatam> :-)
18:02:23 <annakk> kind of feels like a new era, which is nice
18:02:47 <SumitNaiksatam> annakk: is the scope of openstack changing?
18:03:29 <annakk> there is work of assessing the gaps for the edge use case
18:03:37 <annakk> whitepaper is out
18:03:50 <SumitNaiksatam> ah cool, do you have a pointer?
18:03:52 <annakk> there are lots of gaps
18:04:13 <annakk> i think this is the one https://www.openstack.org/assets/edge/OpenStack-EdgeWhitepaper-v3-online.pdf
18:04:59 <SumitNaiksatam> great thanks annakk
18:05:04 <annakk> on the administrative side, the foundation is no longer about openstack project only
18:05:20 <annakk> kata containers and zuul are officially under same umbrella now
18:05:53 <SumitNaiksatam> okay, evolving to becoming like a linux foundation i guess
18:06:16 <annakk> maybe, yeah
18:07:01 <SumitNaiksatam> i noticed there was talk around Spinnaker in that direction
18:07:19 <annakk> I'd recommend to watch some of the edge talks and network slicing talks - I can send pointer later if you want
18:07:37 <SumitNaiksatam> annakk: oh cool, that would be nice
18:07:47 <rkukura> yes - thanks
18:07:56 <SumitNaiksatam> rkukura: anything at your end?
18:08:25 <SumitNaiksatam> tbachman i think is not joining the meeting today, he is buried with the release
18:08:32 <rkukura> only that the initial AIM validation patch merged, working on a quick followup with fixes, then attacking the GBP validation
18:08:43 <SumitNaiksatam> rkukura: yes thanks for that
18:08:49 <rkukura> so the GBP validation might be of wider interest
18:09:07 <SumitNaiksatam> annakk: at our end its just been trying to deal with many releases
18:09:15 <SumitNaiksatam> on the product side
18:09:23 <annakk> ok
18:09:28 <SumitNaiksatam> most of the time going in chasing bugs
18:09:37 <SumitNaiksatam> there was one on the UI side
18:10:11 <SumitNaiksatam> the major refactoring which landed in Pike actually caused the non-GBP launch instance workflows to break
18:10:39 <SumitNaiksatam> so if you installed GBP, your ability to launch instances from compute or network topology was broken
18:10:41 <SumitNaiksatam> we fixed that
18:10:57 <SumitNaiksatam> lot of other driver side issues
18:11:01 <SumitNaiksatam> anway
18:11:27 <SumitNaiksatam> if nothing else, we can finish early
18:11:39 <SumitNaiksatam> annakk: rkukura: thanks for joining!
18:11:41 <rkukura> sounds good
18:11:42 <SumitNaiksatam> bye
18:11:44 <rkukura> bye
18:11:49 <annakk> bye!
