14:00:52 <njohnston> o/
14:00:54 <yamamoto> hi
14:00:56 <amotoki> o/
14:01:09 <mlavalle> How are you all?
14:01:16 <slaweq> hi
14:01:22 <slaweq> great :)
14:01:34 <njohnston> slept through the alarm, so just woke up ;-)
14:01:53 <haleyb> hi
14:02:28 <mlavalle> everybody is here
14:02:33 <mlavalle> so let's get rolling
14:02:38 <mlavalle> #topic RFEs
14:03:15 <mlavalle> First up is https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1817119
14:03:16 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1817119 in neutron "[rfe] add rbac for security groups" [Wishlist,In progress] - Assigned to Doug Wiegley (dougwig)
14:03:41 <mlavalle> The description is sparse... but there are patches for it already
14:04:28 <mlavalle> here's the proposed doc: https://review.openstack.org/#/c/635311/13/doc/source/admin/config-rbac.rst
14:06:39 <slaweq> for me it's completly fine - I just asked dougwig to fill rfe to have everything done right from this procedural side :)
14:06:54 <mlavalle> yeap, thanks for that
14:07:07 <njohnston> what I really like about this is that it takes one of the things fwaas tried to achieve and realizes it in core neutron
14:07:21 <njohnston> in a simple and straightforward way
14:07:27 <mlavalle> I warned him last night I was bringing it up today in the meeting, in case there were questions
14:07:28 <amotoki> generally it makes sense. on the ohter hand, it reminds me of fwaas-v2. what do you think about it?
14:07:50 <amotoki> njohnston already mentioned the similar point :)
14:08:11 <mlavalle> whether this should be implemented in fwaas-2?
14:08:40 <njohnston> well, it's less complicated than how fwaas v2 does things, and as we know customer uptake of fwaas is very limited. I personally think it is smart to pull this in to core neutron
14:09:04 <amotoki> I believe it is worth discussed
14:09:48 <amotoki> I am okay to support RBAC in security groups API in neutron because both RBAC and SG exist in neutron and it does not change the SG behavior model.
14:10:12 <njohnston> I don't want this to become a "what is the future of fwaas" but fwaas is in sort of a special position because it was built to compete with a core neutron function - security groups. Both fwaas and security groups have evolved over the years, grown and enhanced over time. I see this as an extension of that.
14:10:17 <mlavalle> the other consideration is that I don't know how much manpower we have left in fwaas
14:10:25 <njohnston> mlavalle: +1
14:11:08 <slaweq> exactly, and sg aren't deprecated or something like that so I don't see any reason why we should not accept new feature for it
14:11:25 <mlavalle> the truth is that here we have a cocnrete proposal, that in my opinion makes sense without breaking anything and we have the body to implement it
14:11:39 <slaweq> mlavalle++
14:11:42 <amotoki> I second this
14:11:48 <njohnston> mlavalle++
14:11:52 <haleyb> makes sense to me too, and dougwig's been great at getting stuff done and fixing things lately too
14:11:58 <yamamoto> +1
14:12:24 <mlavalle> ok, approved by ovation
14:12:35 * mlavalle updating the RFE
14:12:38 <amotoki> :)
14:14:18 <mlavalle> Next one is https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1815933
14:14:19 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1815933 in neutron "[RFE] Allow bulk-tagging of resources" [Wishlist,New]
14:14:29 <mlavalle> we discussed this one last week
14:14:55 <mlavalle> amotoki: did you have a chance to send message to ML?
14:15:05 <amotoki> sorry, I failed to find time to send it to the ML due to busy week....
14:15:15 <mlavalle> no problem
14:15:37 <mlavalle> if you lack bandwidth, I can start the thread
14:15:43 <mlavalle> just let me know
14:16:01 <amotoki> mlavalle: thanks. I am writing a draft now, so I will take care of it.
14:16:12 <mlavalle> amotoki: thank you very much!
14:17:33 <mlavalle> That's it for today's RFEs
14:17:42 <mlavalle> #topic On demand agenda
14:18:11 <mlavalle> ralonsoh added a topic to the agenda in regards https://bugs.launchpad.net/neutron/+bug/1815345
14:18:13 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1815345 in neutron "neutron doesnt delete port binding level when deleting an inactive port binding" [Medium,In progress] - Assigned to Adrian Chiris (adrian.chiris)
14:19:13 <mlavalle> I don't think it is necessary to discuss it here, but I would encourage the team to comment in the patch https://review.openstack.org/#/c/634276/
14:19:31 <mlavalle> which I intend to do later today
14:19:53 <slaweq> ok
14:20:28 <mlavalle> anything else we should discuss today?
14:20:45 <yamamoto> nothing from me
14:20:54 <amotoki> me neither
14:21:18 <slaweq> not from me
14:21:19 <mlavalle> ok, amotoki, yamamoto and slaweq, you can go and enjoy your weekends
14:21:39 <mlavalle> njohnston, haleyb and I have to toil a little longer
14:21:45 <slaweq> mlavalle: thx :) have a great weekend
14:21:53 <njohnston> have a great weekend all!
