19:04:00 <amitgandhinz> great, no action items from last week
19:04:04 <amitgandhinz> that makes it easy =P
19:04:15 <sriram> lol
19:04:28 <amitgandhinz> #topic Bugs and Blueprints (K3)
19:04:33 <amitgandhinz> #link https://launchpad.net/poppy/+milestone/kilo-3
19:05:09 <amitgandhinz> looks like a lot of bug activity =)
19:05:17 <amitgandhinz> lets go through the blueprints first
19:05:41 <amitgandhinz> first one is mine
19:06:06 <amitgandhinz> amitgandhinz: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/poppy/+spec/gate-api-tests
19:06:16 <amitgandhinz> yeh, i have had a chance to pick this back up again
19:06:23 <amitgandhinz> ive been too focused on fixing bugs
19:06:35 <amitgandhinz> i updated its status to reflect the slow progress =/
19:06:58 <amitgandhinz> hopefully once some of these bugs are resolved i can get back on to running these at the gate
19:07:09 <sriram> +1
19:07:12 <amitgandhinz> ok next one...
19:07:21 <amitgandhinz> tonytan4ever: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/poppy/+spec/vanity-ssl
19:07:29 <amitgandhinz> https://blueprints.launchpad.net/poppy/+spec/san-cert-ssl
19:07:47 <tonytan4ever> I would say san cert one is in good progress.
19:07:57 <tonytan4ever> And vanity-ssl one has not yet been started yet.
19:08:16 <tonytan4ever> As I am focusing on san-cert implementation.
19:08:27 <tonytan4ever> But I should be able to start it soon.
19:08:35 <amitgandhinz> awesome
19:09:20 <amitgandhinz> i would like to give tonytan4ever a round of applause as he is making a significantly complex api from akamai for SAN provisioning, and will be boiling it down to a single field in poppy =D
19:09:54 <obulpathi> yay!
19:10:07 <obulpathi> applause for tonytan4ever!
19:10:10 * sriram claps
19:10:15 <tonytan4ever> Thank a lot.
19:10:16 <amitgandhinz> tonytan4ever: looks like this was implemented too this week -https://blueprints.launchpad.net/poppy/+spec/cassandra-schema-versioning
19:10:19 * sriram claps really hard
19:10:32 <tonytan4ever> That was couple weeks ago.
19:10:33 <obulpathi> now I can hear it
19:10:41 <amitgandhinz> oh, i dont think we covered it last week
19:10:45 <amitgandhinz> maybe its been a long week
19:11:04 <amitgandhinz> miqui: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/poppy/+spec/home-doc
19:11:20 <amitgandhinz> i saw a patch for this come through today
19:11:24 <amitgandhinz> can everyone review it please
19:11:38 <obulpathi> on it
19:11:54 <miqui> hello
19:11:54 <wbrothers> I'm here
19:11:59 <miqui> hi folks...
19:12:06 <miqui> been a while....
19:12:12 <amitgandhinz> hi miqui!
19:12:17 <miqui> hi
19:12:26 <miqui> yeah i placed a patch out there with latest suggestion./review...
19:12:41 <sriram> on it.
19:12:47 <amitgandhinz> cool
19:12:55 <amitgandhinz> ok anyhting else on blueprints or we can move onto bugs
19:12:58 <miqui> thanks guys..sorry took a million years...
19:13:02 <miqui> and that is my fault...
19:13:13 <amitgandhinz> miqui: its ok.
19:13:47 <amitgandhinz> ok bugs...
19:14:11 <amitgandhinz> theres has been a flurry of bugs recently found (which is good since they are now known)
19:14:26 <sriram> do we have them all documented?
19:14:38 <amitgandhinz> ya
19:14:45 <amitgandhinz> obulpathi has been good at doing that
19:14:56 <amitgandhinz> ok first one - https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1432833
19:14:57 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1432833 in Poppy "Poppy creates too many worker threads and does not kill them" [High,Confirmed] - Assigned to Obulapathi (obulpathi)
19:15:08 <amitgandhinz> this is merged isnt it?
19:15:11 <obulpathi> yep
19:15:23 <obulpathi> that issue if fixed now
19:15:23 <amitgandhinz> please remember to reference the bug in the commit
19:15:44 <obulpathi> amitgandhinz: yep, doing for most of the bugs
19:16:01 <amitgandhinz> https://bugs.launchpad.net/poppy/+bug/1433098
19:16:02 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1433098 in Poppy "Strip "/" from the end of origin url and domain url's" [High,Confirmed] - Assigned to Obulapathi (obulpathi)
19:16:09 <amitgandhinz> i believe this is also merged?
19:16:12 <obulpathi> yes
19:16:38 <amitgandhinz> https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1420945
19:16:39 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1420945 in Poppy "default ttl not automatically assigned" [Medium,New] - Assigned to Amit Gandhi (amit-gandhi)
19:16:45 <amitgandhinz> this one is still in progress
19:16:57 <amitgandhinz> i submitted a patch, but i want to simplify it so marked it as a WIP
19:17:35 <amitgandhinz> https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1427872
19:17:36 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1427872 in Poppy "500 domains limit reached for Racksapce DNS" [Medium,Confirmed] - Assigned to Obulapathi (obulpathi)
19:17:56 <obulpathi> we changed the configuration option in Rackspace driver
19:17:57 <amitgandhinz> was this merged, or in review?
19:18:02 <obulpathi> merged
19:18:20 <obulpathi> don't why I missed referencing so many bugs :(
19:18:38 * amitgandhinz nods head of disapproval
19:18:53 <sriram> we should be looking at it when we review.
19:18:58 <amitgandhinz> +1
19:19:05 <sriram> lets make that a point from now on.
19:19:13 <obulpathi> +1
19:19:30 <amitgandhinz> i will only give a +1 here if there is a bug report for this ;-0
19:19:45 <sriram> :P
19:19:45 <obulpathi> cool
19:19:54 <amitgandhinz> https://bugs.launchpad.net/poppy/+bug/1429173
19:19:55 <openstack> Launchpad bug 1429173 in Poppy "Provider failure leaves the state of service in "update_in_progress"" [High,In progress] - Assigned to Amit Gandhi (amit-gandhi)
19:20:02 <amitgandhinz> this one i am currently working on
19:20:28 <amitgandhinz> i just submitted a patch actually, and about to run the api tests to make sure they still pass
19:21:19 <amitgandhinz> ok, those are al the inprogress ones
19:21:37 <amitgandhinz> any thing else to discuss on bugs and bps?
19:21:58 <amitgandhinz> there are a bunch committed, but im not going to go through them all
19:22:19 <obulpathi> nop, nothing from me
19:22:33 <amitgandhinz> #topic New Items
19:22:40 <amitgandhinz> nothing on the agenda.
19:22:45 <amitgandhinz> #topic Open Discussion
19:23:01 <miqui> any new designs/bps?
19:23:10 <miqui> whats the latest overall direction?
19:23:37 <amitgandhinz> so there has been a lot of focus on bug fixing
19:23:57 <miqui> ok..
19:23:58 <amitgandhinz> besides the bug fixing, there are a few open bp we didnt get to
19:23:59 <miqui> sounds good..
19:24:04 <miqui> i'll see what i can grab
19:24:20 <amitgandhinz> if you want a story to pick up that has some weight - would you be interested in the devstack integration?
19:24:35 <amitgandhinz> it should be a pretty decent size story
19:24:59 <miqui> ok, i'll have a look... thanks!
19:25:14 <amitgandhinz> that or the sqlalchemy driver
19:25:37 <amitgandhinz> both are pretty large IMO
19:26:10 <amitgandhinz> cool thanks miqui
19:26:11 <miqui> ok, i'll check out both....and let you know what i decided...
19:26:20 <sriram> there are also the conformance tests, but I dont know how they are prioritized.
19:26:21 <amitgandhinz> and of course ask lots of questions in the channel as you need
19:26:30 <miqui> sure..
19:27:27 <amitgandhinz> i like the devstack and sqlalchemy ones as they make it easier to get poppy up and running (removes cassandra requiremt, and makes it easy to install)
19:27:53 <amitgandhinz> IOW makes it more operator friendly across openstack vendors
19:28:35 <miqui> hehehe i like cassandra...but then again i am not an operator...
19:29:25 <amitgandhinz> yeh, i like cassandra too (and its much more scalable). but for operators who dont need a db replicating around the world, and who already use a sql infra, sqlalchemy is better for them
19:29:43 <miqui> i see..
19:29:47 <miqui> make sense..
19:29:55 <amitgandhinz> and there is nothing in poppy that requires cassandra. its just better from a ops perspective when deploying to multiple datacenters and handling for failover scenarios
19:31:21 <amitgandhinz> ok, anything else ya'll want to discuss?
19:31:40 <miqui> not me ...am done... thanks
19:31:59 <obulpathi> nothing from me
19:32:03 <tonytan4ever> I am good.
19:32:09 <wbrothers> I'm good
19:32:39 <amitgandhinz> btw miqui, at rackspace we are gearing up for a public release of poppy (we are calling it Rackspace CDN here as the marketed product)
19:33:02 <miqui> cool...
19:33:35 <amitgandhinz> we currently are in Beta, but once we get some of these bugs knocked out we will be able to launch it
19:34:27 <amitgandhinz> ok... if no one else has stuff to discuss, we can end the meeting early
19:34:50 <amitgandhinz> going once
19:34:50 <sriram> fine with me :)
19:34:51 <obulpathi> miqui: any plans to launch Poppy at your company?
19:35:10 <miqui> hmm dont think so...
19:35:17 <miqui> thats a good question....
19:35:34 <amitgandhinz> miqui: do you work with the helion teams?
19:35:53 <miqui> not directly, but i have some contacts....
19:35:58 <miqui> i can discuss with themm...
19:37:12 <obulpathi> miqui: let us know if HP is planning a launch
19:37:16 <amitgandhinz> yeh it would be good to get their involvement too. im sure they will be interested
19:37:30 <miqui> k, i will ask...
19:37:39 <amitgandhinz> thanks =)
19:37:46 <amitgandhinz> ok, if nothing else....
19:37:49 <amitgandhinz> going once.....
19:38:00 <amitgandhinz> going twice......
19:38:19 <amitgandhinz> thanks everybody =D
19:38:24 <sriram> see ya!
19:38:25 <amitgandhinz> #endmeeting
