14:00:36 <jeremyfreudberg> #topic news/updates
14:01:01 <tosky> not much work, I was waiting for people coming back from Summit/PTG to ask inconvenient questions again
14:01:06 <tosky> (like how to fix the PDF generation)
14:01:17 <tellesnobrega> not much on my side either
14:01:21 <tellesnobrega> mostly downstream work
14:01:24 <jeremyfreudberg> not much from me, just a trip to china
14:01:30 <tellesnobrega> that is something
14:01:35 <tosky> I have an half-ready plan to fix the jobs for python3 only, I will come back to that in the next days
14:01:45 <tellesnobrega> how was the project update?
14:02:02 <jeremyfreudberg> #topic shanghai summary
14:02:14 <jeremyfreudberg> so, the project update
14:02:48 <jeremyfreudberg> i actually gave it twice, as the first ended up conflicting with delayed keynotes
14:03:03 <jeremyfreudberg> the second was a little better attended than the first but not by much
14:03:22 <tellesnobrega> any idea how many people showed up in total?
14:03:46 <jeremyfreudberg> uh, at most a dozen in the best case. but that includes some supportive red hatters. not much new people
14:03:57 <tellesnobrega> that is good number
14:04:05 <tellesnobrega> historically speaking
14:04:09 <jeremyfreudberg> yeah
14:04:14 <jeremyfreudberg> it was not totally terrible
14:04:15 <tosky> a dozen *.*
14:04:26 <tellesnobrega> its been like that for the past 4 or 5 updates
14:04:30 <jeremyfreudberg> nobody came to onboarding though
14:04:45 <jeremyfreudberg> which was not totally unexpected either
14:05:06 <jeremyfreudberg> even with the more popular projects, that was a problem
14:05:30 <tellesnobrega> yes
14:05:39 <jeremyfreudberg> fresh contributors did not really attend anyone's onboarding
14:06:20 <jeremyfreudberg> anyway, not much interest and no new contributors, but still, at least a handful of new people heard about the status of sahara
14:06:24 <tellesnobrega> unfortunately that has been the onboarding scenario for a while
14:06:29 <jeremyfreudberg> and maybe it will inspire them eventually
14:06:45 <tellesnobrega> not many new contributors in general
14:06:48 <jeremyfreudberg> yeah
14:07:24 <jeremyfreudberg> i believe the second occurence of the project update was actually recorded (at this summit none of the project updates were planned to be recorded)
14:07:50 <tellesnobrega> really? that is odd, did they give a reason why?
14:08:25 <jeremyfreudberg> just general constraints due to venue
14:08:45 <jeremyfreudberg> but i guess i was lucky in giving the update twice, the second one was actually in front of a camera
14:08:55 <jeremyfreudberg> anyway that's all there really is to report about summit/ptg, from the sahara side
14:08:56 <tellesnobrega> nice
14:09:08 <jeremyfreudberg> i didn't really talk to anyone about train/ussuri goals, but maybe it would've been good to
14:09:21 <jeremyfreudberg> #topic open discussion
14:10:11 <tosky> as I mentioned before, we need to start removing the py2 jobs from services (but still pending final confirmation from the TC, I guess)
14:10:59 <tosky> it needs to be handled with care in sahara-tests so that the default jobs should use py2 when run against the old branches
14:11:11 <tosky> only stein and train will keep a -py3 variant
14:11:25 <tosky> I will keep you posted in the next days
14:11:41 <jeremyfreudberg> sounds good
14:11:44 <jeremyfreudberg> i will keep an eye out
14:12:09 <tosky> we have that pending ipv6 thing, I haven't had time to properly deploy devstack on a local system
14:12:31 <jeremyfreudberg> right
14:14:31 <jeremyfreudberg> ok, anything else? none from me
14:14:40 <tosky> nothing else from me
14:16:59 <jeremyfreudberg> alright, we can close
14:17:03 <jeremyfreudberg> thanks all!
