14:01:31 <tosky> oh
14:01:37 <tosky> o/
14:02:18 <jeremyfreudberg> yeah, i'm not sure if we can really use the meeting channels when not officially scheduled to one of them
14:03:00 <jeremyfreudberg> hi tellesnobrega
14:03:05 <jeremyfreudberg> we are just getting started
14:03:39 <tosky> if there are no meetings scheduled, it'd image is "first come first served", but having it here is fine too
14:04:19 <tellesnobrega> joined
14:04:34 <tellesnobrega> is here or meeting-3?
14:04:51 <jeremyfreudberg> tellesnobrega, we'll just be here
14:04:55 <tellesnobrega> ok
14:04:58 <jeremyfreudberg> #topic news/update
14:05:17 <jeremyfreudberg> unfortunately nothing much on my side for these past few weeks
14:05:29 <tellesnobrega> nothing new from my side, haven't had time to work on sahara lately
14:06:04 <tosky> not so much on sahara side in the last two weeks - but previously I've worked to clean gmann's patches which drops python 2
14:06:28 <tellesnobrega> I think I reviewed all the incoming patches
14:06:28 <tosky> and I can briefly provide an update
14:06:33 <tellesnobrega> but I will double check
14:06:38 <tellesnobrega> please do
14:07:27 <tosky> oh, I also fixed one of the dashboard stable branch
14:08:34 <jeremyfreudberg> nice
14:08:44 <jeremyfreudberg> #topic python2 dropping status
14:09:31 <tosky> the drop py2 plan (in general, not just sahara) changed a bit during its implementation phase
14:10:15 <tosky> at some point nova dropped too many things, breaking devstack; so py2 installability was partially restored, but devstack was switched to py3 by default (which should have been the final step)
14:10:30 <tosky> on the sahara side I followed the changes and fixed the two main patches:
14:11:07 <tosky> - https://review.opendev.org/#/c/694699/ - sahara-tests, to be merged first (I had to backport some changes to make sure that sahara-scenario works with py3 in all branches, even pike)
14:11:24 <tosky> - https://review.opendev.org/#/c/696132/ - sahara, can be merged when the previous one is fixed
14:11:27 <tosky> s/fixed/merged
14:11:37 <tosky> what's missing:
14:11:38 <tosky> - patches for all the plugins
14:12:16 <tosky> a patch was proposed for -mapr only (grr) but it's far from being complete (https://review.opendev.org/#/c/695119/)
14:12:40 <tosky> I will probably complete it when the sahara patch is merged, and do the same for all plugins
14:12:47 <tosky> - patch for saharaclient
14:13:09 <tosky> - final patches for the final cleanups (dropping py2 requirements, at the end of the process just for safety)
14:13:44 <tosky> the other repositories have been switched already (-dashboard, -extra, and for what it's worth, -image-elements)
14:14:15 <tosky> soooo please review and merge the two patches :)
14:14:44 <jeremyfreudberg> ok, thanks tosky for being on top of all that, and i will take a look at the sahara and sahara-tests patches soon
14:17:01 <tosky> that's it on the topic, but please keep an eye on the future patches (maybe after the shutdown, maybe during that free time, when the gates are almost empty :)
14:19:09 <jeremyfreudberg> great
14:19:19 <jeremyfreudberg> #topic open discussion
14:20:42 <tellesnobrega> not much from me
14:21:09 <tosky> me neither - I didn't check the PDF effort, but I haven't heard from the rest of the community either
14:21:20 <tosky> I suspect that some of the people involved were suse people, and now, uhm
14:21:23 <jeremyfreudberg> cool
14:21:32 <tosky> I guess I need to start pinging again
14:21:41 <jeremyfreudberg> there's also the ipv6 goal
14:23:12 <jeremyfreudberg> whoops
14:23:25 <jeremyfreudberg> as i said, tosky, not sure you saw, there's also the ipv6 goal
14:23:26 <tosky> IPv6, right - I'm always a bit scared and I didn't try
14:23:33 <tosky> a bit scared by IPv6
14:24:08 <jeremyfreudberg> well i remember the sahara ipv6 job having problem immediately with apache(?) and we couldn't even get past that
14:24:10 <jeremyfreudberg> but it was a while ago
14:24:35 <tosky> it needs to be tested locally, something fails to load
14:25:31 <jeremyfreudberg> yep
14:25:39 <jeremyfreudberg> okay, that's it from me, i guess we can close
14:26:08 <tosky> happy holidays for everyone who celebrates them!
14:26:19 <jeremyfreudberg> yup
14:28:18 <jeremyfreudberg> ok
