21:00:34 <opendevmeet> The meeting name has been set to 'swift'
21:00:41 <timburke_> who's here for the swift meeting?
21:01:00 <kota> hi
21:01:59 <mattoliver> o/
21:02:09 <zaitcev> o/
21:02:50 <timburke_> i don't have a lot to bring up this week
21:02:55 <timburke_> #topic ptg
21:03:13 <timburke_> every time i look at a chart like https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meetingtime.html?month=10&day=18&year=2022&p1=240&p2=248&p3=37&p4=136&p5=70&p6=224&iv=0 i cry a little
21:03:44 <timburke_> which is to say, i still need to book meeting times ;-)
21:04:12 <timburke_> if you haven't already, please register at
21:04:14 <timburke_> #link https://openinfra.dev/ptg/
21:04:25 <timburke_> and add discussion topics at
21:04:33 <timburke_> #link https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/swift-ptg-antelope
21:05:26 <mattoliver> yeah, timezones are hard
21:06:16 <mattoliver> Its a good time to look at all my patch chains and decide if we need to talk about them to renew interest, ie add them to the PTG etherpad :P
21:07:23 <timburke_> that's basically all i had -- i've otherwise been getting pulled into some internal auth/memcache problems, and haven't had much time to move forward on the rebalance-improvement testing i was hoping to do
21:07:53 <mattoliver> yeah, memcache/mcrouter has been my life the last few weeks.
21:08:30 <mattoliver> can't wait to get back into exciting swift stuff. ring v2, otel tracing, sharding, ratelimits all should so much more interesting :)
21:08:50 <timburke_> though i did at least write a patch to fix some stats-reporting in the replicator
21:08:54 <timburke_> #link https://review.opendev.org/c/openstack/swift/+/860000
21:09:06 <mattoliver> oh cool patch number
21:09:57 <timburke_> i'm thinking i'd like to get some more real-time stats into the replicator/reconstructor, rather than pulling stats out of recon (which only get updated at the end of a cycle)
21:10:44 <timburke_> #topic open discussion
21:10:51 <mattoliver> yeah I like it. more real time stats I think is a win
21:11:06 <timburke_> anything else we'd like to bring up this week?
21:11:35 <mattoliver> I wanted to talk about maybe suping up our metrics with OpenTelemtry metrics, but will leave that for a topic in the PTG
21:11:42 <mattoliver> will need to research it some more first :P
21:13:14 <mattoliver> oh and maybe revisit any previous PTG action items.. hmm.
21:13:31 <mattoliver> damn this PTG came up out of no where.
21:14:24 <mattoliver> anyway no, nothing else to bring up atm.. I'm sure there is, but can't think of any. Too early and brain isn't going :P
21:14:44 <timburke_> all right, i'll let y'all go early then
21:14:54 <timburke_> thank you all for coming, and thank you for working on swift!
