@mordred:waterwanders.comcorvus, Clark ^^ please enjoy the pile of madness. the split patch is because we have retries on those tasks and ansible loop+until doesn't actually dtrt. the second works - on resolute. and the third allows the second to work easily14:19
@mordred:waterwanders.comACTUALLY - wow, a re-run of the same working patch failed. wtaf14:23
@mordred:waterwanders.comI've marked those WIP and I'm going to slowly back away and ignore this for a while14:25
@mordred:waterwanders.comI just realized something... I build using these jobs + podman in drizzle already and podman is totally pushing to the buildset registry. I just have my own local podman role that's installing and setting up podman that isn't ensure-podman that I run in a pre-playbook14:33
@mordred:waterwanders.comso - *something* about ensure-podman's podman without my podman role breaks things14:33
@mordred:waterwanders.comand now I'm officially VERY confused14:34
-@gerrit:opendev.org- Clark Boylan proposed: [opendev/project-config] 995706: Add records for x/cursive -> openstack/cursive rename https://review.opendev.org/c/opendev/project-config/+/99570615:23
@mordred:waterwanders.comI have a new theory - and if I'm right it means I was chasing my tail since yesterday. .. in my "get rid of my local overrides" patches I've been setting container_command: podman on the project pipeline definition, which is causing the buildset registry itself to run in podman. podman pushing to the registry can't be the story, since I've been doing that for ages now. but - what changed? registry in podman- which I don't care about, and explicitly registry in podman on noble, where I'm not as confident on the containers.conf config we're laying down15:30
@clarkb:matrix.orginfra-root I pushed 995706 in prep for a potential project rename next week. I've also created https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/opendev-project-renames-20260709 based on the prior rename doc to start getting things organized (the link to the prior rename doc is in the Notes section of this doc if it helps to compare). One thing I wanted to call out is the manage-project slowness against gitea is due to gitea api slowness. I think there is a chance that this impacts our ability to rename projects in a reasonable amount of time. But as noted in the etherpad doc, the rename process is targeted to just things being renamed so the total number of api requests is quite low and it is probably fine15:39

@clarkb:matrix.orgAnil Belur: left a number of comments on https://review.opendev.org/c/opendev/system-config/+/995756 a good chunk of them are me trying to make sure I understand the differencesi n behavior between irc and matrix and makign sense of that translation. But there are a few where I think clarification would be good and/or updates to the change to address some minor things. I'll continue to try and review the stack23:15
