| gthiemonge | manumoh: Hey, I think the main difficulty is that the vip_subnet is set when creating the load balancer and cannot be updated, so Octavia always uses it for the VIP (and VRRP), I think that switching to another subnet of the same network will cause bad side-effects (for ex: amphorae of an Active-Standby LB not on the same subnet, or VIP and VRRP on different subnets in an amphora) | 07:11 |

| gthiemonge | manumoh: the multivip feature can help though, you can put the VIP on an ipv6 subnet and an addtional vip on the ipv4 subnet. In Active-Standby for isntance, Octavia will allocate 1 IPv4 address (VIP) and 3 IPv6 addresses (1 for the VIP, 2 for static/VRRP ports of the amphorae) | 07:14 |
| manumoh | gthiemonge: ohhkk .. Thanks for the response. qq - if all the subnets in the vip network are routable then we will not have any side-effects on switching the vip_subnet to another subnet right? | 08:36 |

| gthiemonge | manumoh: it needs to be tested, but I'm not sure that keepalived/VRRP supports it | 09:28 |
