rh-jelabarre | so now I've tried making an install of the rally-openstack package into a virt env. Did the install_rally.sh to a local dir, enabled the environment, then ran pip install rally-openstack, which looked as though it was installing to that local dir. Then it comes back with three incompatibilities (oslo.utils, oslo.i18n, dogpile.cache) and wouldn't install. This is a virtualized environment, with *only* rally in it | 15:02 |
rh-jelabarre | (one would think). Just how can a set of rally plugins be incompatible with it? | 15:02 |
rh-jelabarre | I would try running it with "--no-deps", but then there may be other dependencies. And it seems the only to find dependencies for a package in pip is to actually install it, which is impossible if it won't install | 15:04 |

andreykurilin | rh-jelabarre: hi! | 21:56 |
andreykurilin | rh-jelabarre: do you know who is responsible for openstack packages at red hat? | 21:57 |
rh-jelabarre | I'd have to look through the package's info to see. I really need to tear this system down and build a clean install, then try the setups again. I've uninstalled/reinstalled the RPM, deleted/reloaded the pip packages back and forth so many times I don't really know what I have in it anymore. | 22:00 |
rh-jelabarre | I thought a virt env would work for me, but even then it says it can't see the plugins | 22:00 |
rh-jelabarre | and the container/Docker method would be a thing to try, but even that seems to require a working rally-openstack installation (so why even bother with a container at that point) | 22:01 |
andreykurilin | ok, so yes, the easiest way is usage of https://cloud.docker.com/u/xrally/repository/docker/xrally/xrally-openstack . In general, I'll try to find who is responsible for rally packages in rhel and fix the issue | 22:09 |
andreykurilin | the issue is that that you have some openstack plugins installed in the system which conflicts with those one which rally requires | 22:10 |

rh-jelabarre | that path didn't work (404 error all the way back to https://cloud.docker.com/u/xrally) I see it at https://hub.docker.com/r/xrally/xrally-openstack | 22:21 |
rh-jelabarre | I had pulled that one down, but then the usage page there shows me having to install all the rally-openstack packages anyway | 22:24 |
rh-jelabarre | have to run out and pick up groceries/dinner | 22:34 |
