Telamonhajik: No, I tried running it as root and even that didn't help.  The problem was that the sql_connection var was missing a slash.  Still didn't get keystone working though.  There is no db_sync command in the packaged version (0.9) and when you force it to recreate the schema the services table is empty so you can't add credentials.06:08
TelamonFor apache you can generally use any of the MPMs, but prefork is the most stable and widely used.06:09

efcasadoHi. I'm trying to get Keystone + Glance + Nova up and running, but I'm not succeeding. Seems that everything is working (authentication, image service...) but when I attempt to create a VM by using an image previously uploaded via Glance I don't succeed. When I login into the recently created VM I can only show the bios saying that no bootable devices have been found.07:31
efcasadoI am using qemu and a vdi ubuntu image. If I go to /var/lib/glance/images and type qemu $UPLOADED_IMAGE It works07:32
efcasadoif I go to the $NOVA_DIR/instances folder I can see a non-empty disk and disk.local image files...07:32
efcasadobut if I try the same thing than in the Glance folder... the VM never starts...07:33
efcasadoanyone has the same problem? Thanks! ;-)07:33

tyskaOneiroi: yeah, i did it then euca-describe-instances show all the instances that was running before i power off13:29
tyskaOneiroi: but i cant ping them, i think they are not really running13:30
Oneiroityska: correct as 1) You have not set the hypervisor to auto power on the instances, as such the hypervisor has them shutdown and openstack thinks they are running13:30
Oneiroiimo easiest way is to get the hypervisor to start them,  then use openstack to restart them13:31

tyskaim having the following trouble: http://pastebin.com/xu8SZtAu17:35
dweimerSwift question. I am rebalancing my rings and have started to see 404 errors on requests. I'm assuming that this is due to the storage node rsync process taking a long time and the proxy nodes are looking for files that haven't been synced yet and are still on old nodes. Is there any way to speed up the replication process?17:35

GlaceeOF course I mean.. running the os on the usb stick.. not the swift objects/containers/accounts17:43
notmynamedweimer: the first thing to do is find out what is really causing the 404s. look in the logs. use the swift-get-nodes tool to find out where swift thinks stuff should live (then see if it's actually there)17:43
notmynameGlacee: one possibility is to change your syslog config to write the swift logs to a different drive.17:44
notmynameswift logs a lot, so running the os on a usb stick is not a good way to get decent performance :-)17:45
