viddhajiki, have you "killall dnsmasq " as root?00:04
viddif you do, make sure you restart your nova-network00:05
hitherehey all.  i'm having probs getting flathdhcpmanager to work with multiple compute nodes.  the best clue i can figure is that on the network controller, dnsmasq looks like it's creating a br10.conf even though the --flat-interface=br2200:06
hitherein nova.conf00:06
hitherethe compute instance is launching the vm , and i can vnc to the vm.. but the vm isn't getting an ip address from the dhcp running on the network controller00:07
*** df1 has joined #openstack00:07
hitherei have two eth ints,  one is for the admin level so that dom0 can speak amongst themselves (eth1), and then a eth2 int in whch the vms use to bridge to one another00:08

df1Hi: I'm using the devstack install, but when I do nova-manage doesn't seem to want to talk to the database (says tables are not defined).  The dashboard works fine, but doesn't do everything I need.00:13
vidddf1, yu know that the devstack "install" is not an actual install....right?00:14
df1vidd: in what sense?00:14
viddrestart your box and everything stops working00:15
hitherevidd, on my nova setup using flatdhcpmanager (non-injected) ,  on the network controller, does nova bring up a bridge for the --flat-interface?  or do i have to create a bridge manually?00:16
viddhithere, if i knew the answer to your question, i would have answered you b400:16
hithere:(00:18
viddhithere, does the bridge work on the controller?00:19
hitherei don't even see it00:19
hithereit keeps trying to bring up a 'br10'00:19
hithereeven though in the conf i specifically set in nova.conf to br10000:20

hitherei have a --flat-interface=eth200:23

viddhithere, i got the info to set this up here: http://docs.openstack.org/diablo/openstack-compute/admin/content/configuring-networking-on-the-compute-node.html00:23
hitherevidd: thanks.  i've read that one many times.  it's not very clear to me what's supposed to happen.  i've gotten this to work in vlan manager and flatmanager (without dhcp).  but not this last option.00:24
hitherethx anyway.  i'll keep digging00:24

heikohiho guys, i don't understand how i can add a user to all openstack services. I use keystone as auth-service for nova, dash and swift. I can login in dashboard, swift accept the usertoken, btw keystone. But swift cant find the user folder in /srv/node/sdx/.....09:24
*** satish has joined #openstack09:25
Oneiroiheiko: if using keystone for auth and all other services configured to use keystone, you need only add a user to keystone, I have no idea what you mean by "user folders", this is not something I am ware of that openstack does on any product09:26
heikoso i think swift auth are woriking correctly, because swift asks keystone if the token are authenticated.....09:26
heikothe configuration are correct .... swift asks keystone, keystone says its ok09:27

sgd21Hi all, we grabbed the latest ubuntu-11.10-server-cloudimg-amd64.tar.gz, and to upload it we wanted to use uec-publish-tarball.  We are using glance, but evidently we do not have nova-objectstore, and so the command dies.  What should we be doing to upload the image?23:23

sgd21OK, we saw an example online using 'glance add <', but there is no indication either way that this worked.23:34
